Hello Hivers!

It's Day 13 of 30 Day Blogging Challenge by @tegoshei. We are almost half way through. Today's subject is not really my cup of tea because I'm not gadget savvy, but I will stick to the topic of the day.

I am away from my phone most of the time and will only check it when it vibrates or when I receive messages. It rests on top of the kitchen counter or the bedside table.

My 5 Most Used Smart Phone Apps:

1. Esteem App

Lately, I've been using this one more and more frequently ever since I joined the #hive.

2. Facebook Messenger

This is my main mode of communication with family and friends. Yes, I have Viber and Whatsapp for friends who have dropped out of Facebook. However, everyone is there so until there's an alternative that everyone uses, I guess I am stuck with messenger for a while. Being a hermit that I am, I'm sadly late in my response when using the last two messaging services.

I also use messenger for communication with my design partner and clients for freelance work and project collaborations.

During the pandemic lock down, I needed urgent dental treatment due to severe tooth infections. Messenger was a life saver because this became a direct link to my dentist who had her clinic closed for three months. She sent me her antibiotic prescription and this incredibly helped me.

We also use messenger to order food delivery.

3. Google Chrome App

When I am bored, I spend a lot of time reading articles online.I use this a lot to aid me while cooking. Handy for bookmarked recipes and searching new ones.

4. Instagram vs Twitter

Since joining the Hive, I don't check Instagram as much anymore and it is competing with Twitter for the spot.

A year ago, I closed my twitter account during my minimalism purging phase. I basically deleted apps from my phone that I wasn't using at all and didn't give value to my goals at that time. I didn't know that my former twitter account would be lost forever, so I recently created a new account on twitter for the #Hive.

Going back to Instagram, I completely deactivated my travel account last year, simply because I was not getting the authenticity that Instagram used to have during its infancy. It was only recently , after one year that I re-activated the account. It was when the quarantine started. I rarely post anything anymore unless I feel something is really worth sharing.

I do use Instagram accounts though to promote work and to communicate with friends who do not use Facebook.

5. Snapseed

This is my favorite photo editing app on my phone. It's user-friendly and versatile. I take a lot of pictures with my phone. I don't regularly share them but I do edit for fun just to see what I could do with them.

Any smart phone app that you highly recommend?
