Welcome to the Golem Overlord Module Guide!

The purpose of this series of guides is to introduce you to the features and mechanics of modules and crafting in Golem Overlord. This is the twelfth post of the series and will show how and why to use Nullification Crystals.

Nullification Crystals Explained

Nullification Crystals are Forge Sigils used in the Pyrite Forge to remove a modifier (stat) from a module. They can drop in exceptional, invaluable, and enigma rarities.

The description in the middle "Removes [a random/ not a strongest magnitude/ a weakest magnitude] modifier on a module" means:

  • Exceptional Rarity Nullification Crystal (Purple) = removes a random modifier on a module.
  • Invaluable Nullification Crystal (Yellow) = removes a modifier on a module that is not the strongest.
  • Enigma Rarity Nullification Crystal (Orange) = removes a weakest magnitude modifier on a module.

Use Cases

The primary use case for a Nullification Crystal is to make room for adding a new stat.

Before using a Nullification Crystal, ensure you have another Forge Sigil that can add a stat to your module. A Smelter's Trinity for example. Otherwise, you lose a stat and don't gain anything by using a Nullification Crystal.

They are useful when you have a module with a weak stat you want to remove or a few poor stats you want to change.

Omega Amplifier Example

As an example, the Omega Amplifier I have been crafting for this guide has all the stats full. Because of the recent release of the Apex Mark Forge Sigil, I can enhance the lowest green stat to a big magnitude using an enigma Apex Mark. This allows me to potentially replace the small green stat with a second big stat.

Step 1: Apex Mark

Fellow Golemancer @chefdjg was selling an enigma Apex Mark which I wanted for this purpose. We agreed on a price of 75 hive and I bought it from him. It's hard for either of us to know if this was a good value but I think it was a fair price.

I used the Apex Mark for a cost of 797 pyrite. After the crafting procedure, my module now has the capacity to carry two big stats as indicated by the two red circles.

Step 2: Nullification Crystal

The next step is to use a Nullification Crystal to remove the small green stat.

One option is to use this invaluable Nullification Crystal to remove "not a strongest magnitude" modifier. This is risky because it could remove one of the medium stats instead of the small stat. I'm not going to use this one because I have a better option.

My lowest risk option is to use this enigma Nullification Cyrstal, it is guaranteed to remove "a weakest magnitude" modifier from my module, which means it will remove the small stat with no risk of removing a medium stat.

Normally it would be recommended to wait and use this on a Quantum Amplifier, but I'm doing this for the guide as a demonstration.

The cost is 37 pyrite to use the Nullification Crystal on the Omega Amplifier.

Here are the results of using the Nullification Crystal. The amplifier now has an empty spot available to add another stat.

Step 3: Smelter's Trinity

Now that I've removed the small stat to make room for a new stat, I need to use another Forge Sigil to add a new stat.

I'm going to use this enigma Smelter's Trinity which has a 75% chance to add a big stat to the module. It also has a 10% chance of nothing happening and a 15% chance of infusing a medium stat.

Results

The Smelter's Trinity added a +22 faith modifier to my module. I'm thrilled with the results of this roll because faith is a strong stat that helps both attack and defense.

Summary

To summarize how I utilized the Nullification Crystal.

  1. Apex Mark to increase a possible stat.
  2. Nullification Crystal to remove the weakest stat.
  3. Smelter's Trinity to add a stat.

Coming Soon - GO Module Guide Continued

In the next post, I will look at more use cases for crafting. I may also try my luck with more void stones to see if I can get lucky and upgrade another module to a higher rarity.

Please leave feedback on this post in the comments or the Golem Overlord Discord. I'll do my best to keep it updated as a reference for players.
