Greyhound bus sucks. Shelton to FGG. Early to bed, early to rise, makes this Oatmeal tear up his legs in a turn of events. I got up at 05:50 AM. I was out the door at 06:30 AM. I jogged over with two bags three miles to Safeway. I hopped on Bus 6. I made it over to Olympia. I walked around a few blocks trying to find the Flix Bus which ended up being a Grey Hound. I ended up not asking people three times or so. But then did ask one guy who told me which direction to go. I ended up going back to the transit center where I started. I went into the building Greyhound has. But they said tickets are done online. Silly because why not do it there in person? So I had to walk several blocks to find WIFI to order a bus ticket. I walked back. But then realized I needed to open up the real ticket by email. So, I had to walk back to find WIFI again. I opened up my email to get an QC code thing for the bus driver to scan.

I do not endorse Greyhound because of this. I first hopped on Greyhound with my family in 1992 to visit California for a family reunion for that Christmas. But they had paper tickets. Now, I don't mind having QR codes as an option. My problem is forcing people to do online paperless tickets only. We should do both, period. QR codes can make stealing tickets easier in some cases. So a different bus came to take me to Portland. I made it to PDX around 11:30 AM. I was walking around. I made it to Pioneer Square. I hopped on the MAX train. That is where my brother ran into me. He found me. He was on the same train car.

We were going to go home from Portland. Meaning our home town, Forest Grove, Oregon. That is the Forest Grove Ghetto (FGG). But Rick wanted to stop by Powell's book store which I thought he meant the book store by the library. We got off by the stadium. We walked by my old apartment. We saw the pile of bikes. We went by the Crystal Ballroom which is on that same block or close to where I lived. I mentioned Whole Foods was down the road. Mom went there like in the 1990s or something at least one time I remember. Rick mentioned how he took a bus over to Las Vegas the previous day or so. Hotels not $20 a night but like $40 or maybe more. Like hidden fees or crazy added fees. He walked aorund to see casinos and stuff there for a day or however long it was. So, ok, so we walk to the book store. We see so many homeless in tents. It is like San Francisco, NYC, Detroit, Chicago, Seattle, etc. I lived in PDX from 2008 to 2011. This PDX in 2023 is worse than that. But still nice to visit. We went back to the stadium. We talk to a Vietnamese guy who might be 40 or 60 years old. I spoke some Vietnamese. Rick got him food at a store nearby. We hopped on the train. We got off at the Beaverton Transit Center. That guy disappeared. Rick was like maybe he a smoking angel. So we entered them without knowing. We hop on the Tri-Met bus 57. We see Harvey the rabbit in Aloha. Skate World is now like Walmart or something. K-Mart is Winco. We had conversations. We go to Walmart near our house. We walk into the neighborhood. We see kids coming home from school. We bring home pecan pie, a case of bottled water, etc. We say hello to Robin Baker. She let us borrow her jeep. We talk to Mike Vanderzanden for an hour or less. We came close to finding dad at Pamela Jeans at 17th and I forget. Nobody was at CCBC. We drove over for Taco Tuesday with Sharon Hundley. Her new husband put together military model tanks, airplanes, etc. Because he was guarding a wall between west and east German like the 1970s or whenever it was. He has the people. Perhaps the faces. Details. He said he does not have pronouns but adjectives. Brilliant. Call me not he/him for pronouns but amazing and awesome for adjectives. I say give me my own verbs like give and send or allowed. Like give me money or let me do anything. We talked about water routes. We go home and talked to dad about life. We decided we would go see an NBA basketball Blazers game the next day, tomorrow, being Wednesday. Dad beat me with his right hand in arm wrestling and I beat him with my left.
