Hoy fue la previa de la segunda carrera más importante de Venezuela (después del maratón CAF), la Caracas Rock 2024, en la que participan varios miles de corredores.
Es la segunda vez que participamos como @hiverun y en esta edición, correremos @enmy @erilej @vandres y yo @danielvehe.
Fui a retirar el kit de carrera, después de un intento fallido el día anterior, debido a la lluvia. El aguacero que sucedió en la tarde del viernes, hizo que decidiera regresarme, ya que de seguro las calles colapsarían. Hoy no fue diferente y llovió toda la tarde, pero fui temprano y todo me fluyó rápido.
Tenía una preocupación, porque @enmy está de viaje en España. Regresa hoy, pero ya cuando termina la entrega de kits. Ella no me registró como la persona que iba a retirar su kit, así que solo iba con una autorización que me hizo desde España y me la pasó por correo.
La verdad que esto me estresó y me hice varias películas de lo que pasaría. Ya me veía discutiendo para que me permitieran retirar su material. Fue impresionante que todo sucedió sin traumas, sin estrés y de la forma que nunca imaginé.
Cuando pregunté me dijeron que yo mismo podía hacer la autorización desde la página web. Así lo hice, ahí mismo busqué un lugar cómodo para sentarme e ingresar en la web. Desde ahí llené los datos de ella y míos como la persona autorizada. Subí una foto de su cédula y también de la mía. Listo, por arte de magia eso era todo. Fue a la mesa técnica y le avisé a la chica, me buscó y ya salía como autorizado. De esa forma pude retirar su kit.
La lección (que ya me la sabía, pero siempre se olvida) es que no debemos hacernos historias que no han ocurrido. Vivir el momento, sin pensar en lo que pasará en el futuro. Me estresé sin sentido y por gusto. Al final todo es perfecto.
Mañana cumplo medio siglo y lo voy a celebrar en una de las mejores carreras y más icónicas. Me encanta que coincida. En el 2013 también sucedió, cuando cumplí 39 años.
Es mi cuarta "Caracas Rock", aunque una la corrí por fuera. Mañana no tengo expectativas de tiempos, sino solo de disfrutar el día 😁

Today was the preview of the second most important race in Venezuela (after the CAF marathon), the Caracas Rock 2024, in which several thousand runners participate.
It is the second time we participate as @hiverun and in this edition, we will run @enmy @erilej @vandres and me @danielvehe.
I went to pick up the race kit, after a failed attempt the day before, due to the rain. The downpour that happened on Friday afternoon, made me decide to turn back, as for sure the streets would collapse. Today was no different and it rained all afternoon, but I went early and everything flowed fast.
I had one concern, because @enmy is on a trip to Spain. She is coming back today, but already when the kit delivery is over. She didn't register me as the person who was going to pick up her kit, so I was only going with an authorization that she gave me from Spain and sent it to me by mail.
The truth is that this stressed me out and I made several movies of what was going to happen. I could already see myself arguing to be allowed to pick up his material. It was impressive that everything happened without trauma, without stress and in a way I never imagined.
When I asked, they told me that I could do the authorization myself from the web page. So I did it, right there I looked for a comfortable place to sit down and enter the website. From there I filled out her information and mine as the authorized person. I uploaded a photo of her ID and mine. That was it, magically that was it. I went to the technical desk and told the girl, she looked me up and I was already authorized. That way I could pick up her kit.
The lesson (which I already knew, but always forget) is that we should not make up stories that have not happened. Live in the moment, without thinking about what will happen in the future. I stressed myself senselessly and for the fun of it. In the end everything is perfect.
Tomorrow I turn half a century and I'm going to celebrate it in one of the best and most iconic races. I love that it coincides. In 2013 it also happened, when I turned 39.
It's my fourth “Caracas Rock”, although I ran one of them on the outside. Tomorrow I have no expectations of times, but just to enjoy the day 😁.
Por cierto; estoy impresionado que la mayoría de los patrocinantes de carreras, sean productos perjudiciales para la salud. Desde harinas procesadas, margarinas, refrescos, hasta protectores solares y helados. Es el vivo reflejo de una sociedad incongruente.
By the way; I am shocked that most of the race sponsors are unhealthy products. From processed flours, margarines, soft drinks, to sunscreens and ice cream. It is the living reflection of an incongruent society.
