Sweet Dreams πŸ€πŸ’€

How are you? Hey, I wanna show you this drawing I just finished recently. I wanted to try out a few things, and I've been playing around with some ideas, but among them, I chose this one that I really liked and also seems different from what I've always done. It's the first time, I think.

Many times in the past, for example, there were moments when I did some fanart for SAC. I always depicted a character and explored their human side. I wanted to do that again, but I put it off for later. This time, I wanted to try something different, hmmmmmmmmmmm both the healer and the creature, exploring them both. I've had this idea for a long time.

I made a video for this drawing, so I'll edit it to show the process of creating this artwork. But for now, I'll leave you with some images. By the way, I've added some extra ones compared to what I usually put.

While I was jotting down some ideas in my sketchbook, I was working on a couple of things that I could potentially use in the future. Among them, I drew a girl who was lying down, although it was a bit more complete than usual, it seemed to me that it was what I was looking for to create alongside the creature. However, I left it there for a while, and well, yesterday I finally picked it up again. The only thing missing was adding the creature, but that would be on the computer. When I was doing the creatures last time, there was a part where I had one of the many sketches I made for them saved, and it worked for me as a base to finish the sketch of this one. I didn't start this drawing with grayscale, actually lately sometimes I don't start like that, but go straight with a splash of color, and well, but in this one, as I mentioned in some past posts, it seems that I sketch when I feel that I don't have much, much, how do you say it, I don't have much confidence or something like that in what I'm doing, and I want to see if what I'm doing looks good, and the sketch turned out well so I could start painting. So until I had that step, which was the previous step, I didn't start painting, and when I started painting, I went directly with the base colors, something simple but even though I used a soft brush, I never use it, but I used it this time, to make this step.

-.-

✨✨✨

After I had the base, one of the first things I started working on was the girl's body, although it wouldn't be visible, but yes, I worked on the whole body, adding a bit more detail. It was the first thing I did even though there were many things left to do, I decided to start with that. Well, after that, I put on a dress because since I was recording the video, I didn't want to show anything inappropriate πŸ€ͺπŸ˜‚πŸ‘πŸΌ. As there are two characters, I had to juggle many things at once, so I decided to put aside the girl a bit. I didn't delve too much into that and started working a bit on the creature, which was what really challenged me more than the girl, because the girl is something I always do, but the creature isn't. So, it was a bit more complicated, and I used a brush that looked like strands of a real brush to give it that fur-like texture. I was working a bit and fixing some things that I didn't like.

-.-

✨✨✨

As I progressed, I focused more on detailing the creature because I wanted it to look good, to be honest. I kept improving things and had some trouble with the jaw trying to get that shape from the reference. But amidst all that, I think I started liking it a bit more, gradually finding that style I liked in terms of the fur and those kinds of details. I felt a bit more confident and better about how it was turning out. I also added a bit to the background because initially, I was just doing random spots, but I wanted it to look like a forest, so that was the beginning of that. In the last pass, I had some issues, which I usually don't have, but whenever I pick a color for a character, I usually tone down the saturation a bit and tweak things like that so it doesn't look too intense, especially since it was going to be in a nighttime setting. So, I made some adjustments to acclimate the characters. I kept working a bit more on the creature; I couldn't stop drawing it because I kept adding more detail, just a little more, fixing some things a bit more, and I got stuck on that, leaving everything else aside. I didn't do anything else on the background or the girl.

-.-

✨✨✨

The time came to work on a girl. So it was time to do something more. Previously, I had only made a kind of base for the girl's skin, so I started to detail some more things. There was still work to be done on the background and other things, but there was progress here. It's time to do something with the background, so I used a soft brush to create something that would work as a base for everything else that still needed to be done with the background. For that, I used a soft brush, I didn't need to detail anything, just to give me a little bit of volume and depth.

-.-

✨✨✨

I think this is the first time I'm focusing on creating a magical forest with so many plants and stuff, so this took quite a while. I started with the background plants, slowly making them using the same brush with some texture and smoothing in some parts. You'll notice they're just blobs I made, and from there, I started shaping them to create the plants. The background part was almost done, but the main part was still missing. Using the same random blobs I placed, I'd get an idea to complete all the plants at once.

-.-

After finally finishing the background, there were still some things to do on the girl's body, so after doing the hair, tiara, necklace, and a few other details, I could give the final touches to complete this drawing.

-.-

Thank you very much for taking the time to view my work.
