The Amazing Panda Adventure

The Chinese Star Wars, a story of a boy, Brian, not Luke Skywalker, saving his Indiana Jones of a father who is not Darth Vader but who must have fallen into that dark side hole. Plus, Mulan as a not Princess Leia sidekick.

I saw The Amazing Panda for $3.25 USD from 05:20 PM to 07:00 PM PDT, roughly speaking, a 90 minute film, on Friday the 25th of August of 1995 back when I was ten years old at the Cinema 7 theater in Forest Grove, Oregon. Saw it during that summer, that eighth month.

Linh as Princess Leia Mulan

In this post, I'm sharing some of my random notes and screenshots from my rewatching of this movie today. I've been reverse engineering my life as I write my autobiography. So, I take particular note on the things I remember from that feature presentation and I ponder at the many things I don't recall.

Life is funny like that.

I've also included some links relating to my life in 1995 at the bottom of this post.

I wonder if I were to go back in time to watch my life unfold before my very eyes, how much would I remember? Well, that's an excellent question and I do these memory exercises sometimes in order to spark any repressed memories or whatever. I'm trying to trigger things from the past to come up. I do remember bits and pieces from this adventure show which I remember seeing the trailer on TV. I wanted to see it because it looked like a fun adventure which I was all into as a young boy. I love animals and forests. I enjoy climbing trees.

The biggest memory I've retained from this quarter century old movie was the part where the son, Brian, and father's translator, the girl named Linh, both stripped naked in order to get away from the leeches who were on their clothes and all over. As kids can be, I was sexually curious and stuff as you would imagine. I was a bit shocked and probably a variety of emotions as that happened. I wondered if she really saw his butt as he ran off to save the day, spoiler alert, hope I'm not exposing too much, pun intended. I remember feeling like huh, like what's going on here kind of thing.

I have vague memories of some of the characters, the pandas, the music, the trees, the bridge, the mountains, some of the dialogue, the reference of American Gladiators, possibly the Nintendo reference or maybe not, how pandas gave a village good luck, the story of why pandas have black around their eyes I think, the beautiful scenery, and possibly a few other things. I especially remember how the kids fell into the rivers a few times.

I don't really remember many of the specifics of the film, the exact appearances of some of the characters, the airport scenes, the details regarding the dad and the son, the mother, the village I think kind of, the cart accident, the government people in the bus, the poachers I don't really remember or not very well I guess, Linh's grandpa I forget, the school scenes at the beginning, the very ending, etc.

I may not remember everything.

But I do remember somewhat how the film made me feel.

Hug the trees for climate change and global warming which is partly a hoax and also mostly caused by the sun by over 99% and yet the remaining is partly weaponized via geoengineering and other things

The most unexplored place in the world may be China. If we can help the Chinese people free themselves from bad government, then we could all go there and explore this ocean of undiscovered treasures.

Indiana Jones like dad swinging in to save the day with a bad leg

They paint Chinese government in good light or leave out a lot in movies, shows, etc, to make the illusion that most of the problems in China are due to Chinese people being poor as opposed to the tyranny of bad government which is a major factor.

They came in time to keep the place open as the bus of gov people were leaving, they showed that the mother panda had a baby

A panda in this film was from a circus in Wuhan, China, not to be confused with Covid which was leaked out of North Carolina in 2015, thanks Obama.
