Hello everyone dear community of TheAnimeRealm, I hope you are great today... this time I want to share with you a new review with my opinions about the anime: Overlord. A very interesting anime that surely many of you will know, or maybe not... I actually watched it some time ago, I didn't have many expectations, but it ended up generating me certain emotions... if I personally had to summarize this series in one word, I would say immersive, I think that from the first episode, this anime immerses you in an incredibly detailed world that seems taken directly from an interesting Dungeons and Dragons campaign... And if you are a fan of RPGs or have spent many hours playing the well known MMORPGs, this anime will captivate you in a different way, it has that classic what if I got stuck in my favorite game scenario, but instead of being a weak NPC with no interesting abilities, on the contrary, when you enter this game you become the most powerful final boss of all...
The story starts with a guy named Momonga, who is the master of a once glorious guild in an online game that is about to shut down, in the real world, he is somewhat of a loner, but inside the game he is a skeleton lord with powers.... When the game servers shut down, he realizes that he is trapped as his character, Ainz, from there, the whole story starts to move, with this guy trying to figure out what the hell has happened while trying to make a name for himself in this new world that he doesn't know about.. In this new world, one of the best things this series does is the construction of everything that encompasses the video game world.. I mean, the attention to detail is very impressive, they show different kingdoms, races and even the political structures of this whole place..
It's not just a generic boring fantasy background, but on the contrary, this world feels very dynamic, and as you follow the protagonist on his journey, you are introduced to a lot of secondary characters, some of which barely get any screen time, but still feel very developed... It seems like every character, no matter how small, has a very deep history, specific motivations and little quirks, you can tell this world wasn't improvised.. it has depth and complicity, something I really like.... >Hola a todos querida comunidad de TheAnimeRealm, espero que se encuentren genial en el día de hoy.. en esta ocasión les quiero compartir una nueva reseña con mis opiniones sobre el anime: Overlord. Un anime muy interesante que seguramente muchos de ustedes conocerán, o tal vez no.. yo la verdad lo vi hace algún tiempo, no tenía muchas expectativas, pero terminó generándome ciertas emociones.. si yo personalmente tuviera que resumir esta serie en una palabra, diría inmersivo, creo que desde el primer episodio, este anime te sumerge en un mundo increíblemente detallado que parece sacado directamente de una campaña interesante de Dungeons and Dragons.. Y si eres fan de los RPG o has pasado muchas horas jugando los conocidos MMORPG, este anime te va a cautivar de una manera diferente, tiene ese escenario del clásico que pasaría si me quedara atrapado en mi juego favorito, pero en lugar de ser un NPC débil y sin habilidades interesantes, al contrario, al entrar a este juego te conviertes en el jefe final más poderoso de todos..
La historia comienza con un tipo llamado Momonga, quien es el maestro de un gremio que alguna vez fue glorioso en un juego en línea que está a punto de cerrar, en el mundo real, él es algo solitario, pero dentro del juego es un señor esqueleto con poderes.. Cuando los servidores del juego se apagan, se da cuenta de que él está atrapado como su personaje, Ainz, a partir de ahí, toda la historia empieza a moverse, con este chico tratando de descubrir qué demonios ha pasado mientras intenta hacerse un nombre en este nuevo mundo que él desconoce.. En este nuevo mundo, una de las mejores cosas que hace esta serie es la construcción de todo lo que engloba al mundo del videojuego.. quiero decir, la atención al detalle es muy impresionante, muestran diferentes reinos, razas e incluso las estructuras políticas de todo este lugar..
No es solo un fondo genérico aburrido de fantasía, sino que al contrario, este mundo se siente muy dinámico, y mientras sigues al protagonista en su viaje, te presentan un montón de personajes secundarios, algunos de los cuales apenas tienen tiempo en pantalla, pero aun así se sienten muy desarrollados.. While others bring a comic touch with their over the top craziness.. what I really love about this series is how the ultimate boss interacts with them, he's not the most confident guy in the world, but because of the way the NPCs perceive him, as some sort of godlike figure, he's forced to act like a great strategist and leader.. It's hilarious to see some things when he starts improvising in situations where everyone thinks he's playing very cleverly, when in reality he's just guessing most of the time, another thing I would like to mention is the music this anime has...
The soundtrack is simply awesome, it's one of those anime where the music not only complements the scenes, but elevates them in an amazing way.... The openings and endings are really great, and the background music is very epic, it fits like a glove. There is a specific track that plays whenever Ainz is about to do something, and I really like it, I was waiting for these musical moments, knowing that something big was about to happen... I think that if you are a fan of anime soundtracks, Overlord will not disappoint you, they capture perfectly the epic and dark atmosphere of this fantasy world... >Y hablando de los personajes, aquí no son simples inhumanos sin mente.. todos tienen sus personalidades, emociones, y son ferozmente leales a Ainz, algunos, como Albedo y otros, son aterradoramente competentes y devotos.. Mientras que otros aportan un toque cómico con sus locuras exageradas.. lo que realmente me encanta de esta serie es cómo el jefe máximo interactúa con ellos, no es el tipo más confiado del mundo, pero debido a la forma en que los NPCs lo perciben, como una especie de figura divina, se ve forzado a actuar como un gran estratega y líder.. Es divertidísimo ver algunas cosas cuando empieza a improvisar en situaciones donde todos creen que está jugando con mucha astucia, cuando en realidad solo está adivinando la mayoría del tiempo, otra cosa que me gustaría mencionar es la música que tiene este anime..
La banda sonora es simplemente impresionante, es uno de esos animes donde la música no solo complementa las escenas, sino que las eleva de una manera increíble.. Los openings y endings son auténticos temazos, y la música de fondo es muy épica, le queda como anillo al dedo. Hay cierta pista en específico que suena siempre que Ainz va a hacer algo, y realmente me gusta mucho, me encontraba esperando justo estos momentos musicales, sabiendo que algo grande estaba por suceder.. creo que si eres fanático de las bandas sonoras en los animes, Overlord no te va a decepcionar, logran capturar perfectamente el ambiente épico y oscuro de este mundo de fantasía.. --- ![image_3.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/jessuses1381/23zknGCtfKs8cpDaFmnnxagDLprsCdyrsTX7MknFmUM6SK2G9Tr2rFP2x2rWmJg61kU2K.png) [Image Source](https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/64196-overlord/season/2/episode/13/images/backdrops) --- One thing I want to clarify is that the animation can be a bit spotty, especially in the more recent seasons, where they rely heavily on CGI for some of the battle scenes.. it's not completely horrible, but it does show quite a bit, and if you're not a fan of CGI in anime, like me, it might take you a bit out of the immersion you were thrown into.... That said, I'm of the opinion that the character designs are very solid, a lot of the action scenes have these characters fighting in a very cool and exciting way, especially when Ainz goes into his OP mode and starts showing how broken his powers are, but back to the story, one of the things that may surprise you is how this series manages to balance the tones. . on one hand, it has a somewhat dark and serious story about a guy trapped in a world who is trying to find other players like him and understand what's going on, on the other hand, it has unique humor and light moments, especially in the interactions between the NPCs...
Another thing, technically the protagonist would come to be like the “villain” of this world, but since we are seeing everything from his perspective, it is really easy to root for him.. it is an interesting dynamic that makes you question what is right and what is wrong in that world, since not everything is black and white, things are not that easy... Thinking.. and if I had to mention something negative that didn't end up convincing me, I would say that the pacing can be strange at times.. there are certain arcs, especially the lizard men arc, that I didn't really like and didn't see it very necessary, and like this there are some others... Not that they are bad as such, but in comparison to the other more intense moments, they can feel a bit like filler.... >Una cosa que quiero aclarar es que la animación puede ser un tanto irregular, especialmente en las temporadas más recientes, donde se apoyan mucho en el CGI para algunas escenas de batallas.. no es completamente horrible, pero sí se nota bastante, y si no eres fan del CGI en el anime, como yo, podría sacarte un poco de la inmersión en la que te habían metido.. Dicho esto, yo opino que los diseños de personajes son muy sólidos, muchas de las escenas de acción tienen a estos personajes luchando de una manera muy genial y emocionante, especialmente cuando Ainz entra en su modo OP y comienza a demostrar lo rotos que están sus poderes, pero volviendo a la historia, una de las cosas que puede sorprender es cómo esta serie logra equilibrar los tonos.. por un lado, tiene una historia algo oscura y seria sobre un tipo atrapado en un mundo que está tratando de encontrar a otros jugadores como él y entender qué es lo que está pasando, por otro lado, tiene un humor y momentos ligeros únicos, especialmente en las interacciones entre los NPCs..
Otra cosa, técnicamente el protagonista vendría siendo como el "villano" de este mundo, pero como estamos viendo todo desde su perspectiva, es realmente fácil apoyarlo.. es una dinámica interesante que te hace cuestionar lo que está bien y lo que está mal en ese mundo, ya que no todo es blanco o negro, las cosas no son tan fáciles.. Pensando.. y si tuviera que mencionar algo negativo que no me terminó de convencer, yo diría que el ritmo puede ser extraño en algunas ocasiones.. hay ciertos arcos, especialmente el arco de los hombres lagarto, que no me gustó mucho y no lo vi muy necesario, y como este hay algunos otros.. The NPCs around him also have their moments to shine, especially characters like Sebas or Cocytus, who have their own mini-arcs that add a lot of depth to their personalities...I'd give this anime a solid **8/10**. It's not perfect, but it managed to keep me entertained, if you like games, and enjoy very detailed world building, this anime is for you... The music is top notch, and the story, although slow at times, is interesting from start to finish. And well, that would be my review, what did you think? See you in the next ones. Bye bye bye. >En cuanto al desarrollo de personajes, Ainz es un poco paradójico.. por un lado es esta figura todopoderosa casi divina en un nuevo mundo, pero, por otro lado, sigue siendo un tipo normal que está tratando de resolver las cosas, no es alguien del otro mundo, su personaje evoluciona de manera sutil a lo largo del tiempo, a medida que se vuelve más cómodo en su papel como líder y comandante.. Los NPCs que lo rodean también tienen sus momentos para brillar, especialmente personajes como Sebas o Cocytus, quienes tienen sus propios mini-arcos que añaden mucha profundidad a sus personalidades.. yo le daría a este anime un sólido **8/10.** No es perfecto, pero me logró entretenerme, si te gustan los juegos, y disfrutas de una construcción de mundo muy detallada, este anime es para ti..
