After yesterday's long run on the Peavine Trail, I thought that I would run along some of the trails off of the Javelina Trail.
The weather was great with cooler temperatures and plenty of clouds to make for very comfortable running conditions. The first couple of miles were easy as it was on the smooth, wide and gently downhill Javelina Trail. After that it was onto the winding single-track trails through the beautiful forest. My legs were feeling OK but I wasn't pushing the pace and I was careful so I didn't have any accidents.
I enjoyed the quiet trails for several miles that never really strained my legs but I was tired as I climbed up the last mile back on the Javelina.
Just a tad under 7 miles so it was a good run.
Light rain followed Lulu and I to Lynx Lake but the skies cleared and we enjoyed a great hike around the quiet lake. The trees are beginning to show some autumn color and I'll miss this place when we head back up to South Dakota next spring - we'll enjoy our hikes until then.
