My Actifit Report Card: October 6 2024

I was tired of my road runs and figured a route around the trails up at Granite Basin would be nice.
At least it was a little bit cooler up in the hills but still a very warm 86 degrees and sunny.

The first 3 miles were pretty much all uphill from the trailhead but most of the trail was decent with only a few rocky spots as I was remembering my nasty fall here last month. Not the fastest paced run but my legs are still tired and I just want to get in good mileage to get fit for my ultra try (again) in a month. That "race" will be a 4 mile loop around Tortugas Mt in NM so the route will be a lot like these trails.
Once I reached the outbound turn it was a much easier winding descent back down towards the Metate Trail (your most liked trail there) but my quads were really tired as I hit the Metate and struggled a bit on the final climb before zipping down to my car.
Thought I would hit 6 miles but a solid 5.5 miles was great.
Lulu and I put in a late afternoon hike at Lynx Lake but I felt tired so it was a very easy hike on the paved path.

I won't run much (if at all) tomorrow as we have an early dog transport and will be on the road for hours - but a beautiful Husky will be on her way to her new adopter so that makes me happy 😊.
