My first visit to Media City UK in Manchester. Glorious view of water and sky from my room on the 8th Floor of the Premier Inn. The tram stop into the City Centre is a few minutes walk away, along with a shopping centre, eateries and bars, Imperial War Museum North and, further along, Old Trafford.

Saturday Savers Club in Manchester
The two workshops at the Economic Justice conference on Friday 7 June 2024 went well. About forty people with a wide range of experience took part - some had bought crypto, many had heard about it, a few had been scammed:
(that scam where various famous people are purported to have just bought their ninth Ferarri - why you would want nine if you had a choice, I don't know - and all you have to do is send money to ...).
The questions were endless, which was fantastic because it showed a high level of engagement, and there were many different responses from overwhelming and mind-blowing through terrifying to carefully considered thoughts about could I clear my mortgage?
There were also questions about tax, environmental issues and anonymity and, very excitingly, discussions that were starting to consider the possibilities.
About twenty-five people have signed up for a Hive account and are interested in coming to the follow up online workshops we'll be running on a Friday afternoon for three weeks.
SPI for Sale
Last week I talked about 2,500 SPI that had been bought back by the @spinvest fund. I asked whether anyone would be interested in a second SPI subscription savings fund. There was some interest and we are going to be running a second plan from September. Watch out for the details on the @eddie-earner account.

- EDS, EDS-VOTE, EDSD - Everything going well here, @eds-vote sitting at just under 320,000 HP, lots from Saturday Savers which is fabulous to see. We've also set up a curation trail for eds-vote which supports Savers so a nice circular economy. I'm buying EDSD with my earnings from my side-hustle and posting, and I've decided to track EDSD acquisitions each week. (More about side-hustles).

Blogging - Too busy to blog or curate this week, didn't even have time to check the SPI subscription plan update which went out on Wednesday! Life is good, though.
Saturday Savers Club - 2024 Launch and FAQs. Sixty registered savers now. Anyone can join at any time by commenting with their goals on the weekly post on the @eddie-earner account (also follow @eddie-earner for news about EDS). Our first subscription savings plan is on point too with the third round distributed now.
HSBI - HIVE basic income - I'm growing these through sponsoring HPUD and other challenge posts over on Saturday Savers Club. It'll have a nice boost this week.
What's New
Fabulous results for Hive at the Conference on Friday. Yesterday I went into town and visited Manchester Art Gallery before meeting a friend for a pizza - lovely to catch up with them. My sister and her husband went home to Cyprus on Wednesday after a very busy fortnight staying with me. Today, I'm chilling and may do some exploring before travelling back south.
