I have to tell you the true story of how Silver Bloggers was born.
Did you notice our name has changed ever so slightly?
We've decided to drop the word Hive as we all know exactly where we belong plus it's causing confusion.
Not so long ago @riverflows jokingly suggested I start a community for retirees as this is an untapped market and could be a great way to attract more folk to join Hive.
In pure jest she put this together :)

Is that the kind of lifestyle any of our retired Silvers have been enjoying? Not me for sure!
Some mature folk may have a little Silver to invest in Hive and share their photography while lazing away at the beaches around the world while others may need the extra cash and should have time on their hands to blog about their life experience, and can do so without any startup costs.
I was quite horrified when @riverflows suggested this community could be called Grey Bloggers as that sounds SOOO OLD, and so came up with the name Silver Bloggers, but that's as far as it went; just a bit of fun jesting.
Those who know me, also know that I'm always up for a challenge, so the more I thought about it, the more I realised there are many of us who already fit into that category here on Hive, and so Silver Bloggers was born.
This already is an exciting community with real talented quality content creators and we're all here building some stash by doing what we love, and that is writing!!!!
Our moderator @papilloncharity has been very patient with me so thank you for that, kind sir!
We both agreed right from the start that we needed some young blood here as well, so anyone from 40 upwards can join #silverbloggers as we can all learn from each other.
Notice we did away with the upper limit of 100 as some of us may still want to blog if we get to that grand old age LOL ;)

Our objective is to bring together young at heart kindred spirits with a love of blogging and photography, keen to share life experiences and store it here for future generations and also learn about Crypto.
OCD Incubation Program trial period
As we have now been accepted into the OCD Incubation program on a month's trial basis, let's start by becoming more active plus attract more of our 40 year-old-and-upwards Hivers to the Silver Bloggers Community.
We can focus on attracting more Silver people onto Hive from the outside world once we're a stronger community.
How to get curated by OCD?
Choose suitable topics such as these:
- Forward Planning for that big day.
- Projects and Hobbies that can be turned into a Micro-Business on Hive.
- Basic Understanding of Cryptocurrencies.
- Accommodation Options suited to your Twilight Years' Lifestyle.
- Pitfalls to avoid.
- Fun blogs about life, before and after escaping the Corporate Jungle.
- Your Bucket List
We further welcome any ideas for topics; so please let us know here or DM @papilloncharity or me on Discord.
We encourage members to continue blogging in other communities where their topic is a better fit, unless you want to tell us how your activities have been affected by those Silver hairs LOL.

We welcome cross-posting from members if you believe the topic would be of interest to our Silver Bloggers but #silverbloggers is required.
Those posts however cannot be put forward by us for OCD support; it has to be done by the original community.
