I go on and on about how great it is to be a Hasher and how getting involved in the club has truly changed my life for the better and introduced me to new friends all over the world. It also is a fraternal organization of sorts in that any community that you visit that has a hash is going to welcome you in as one of their own immediately, it is just a wonderful group. I say it over and over again. But the question remains about how it is that someone can find a Hash near them and get involved? Well someone has created a global database of sorts and I'm happy to share that with all of you.
The website is http://gotothehash.net/ and it is the most comprehensive list of Hash House Harriers links that I can find on the internet. They have the contact for H3 groups on all continents and I had my doubts that it would be up to date because I don't recall us ever submitting our own links for the website. So I clicked on "Thailand" to see if it was accurate.
But lo and behold there we are along with all the other known hash groups that exist in the country. The link works and well, even if it didn't, it certainly narrows the search down for you.
They also have a section dedicated to massive global events and this is something even dedicated long-term hashers would enjoy. I know that I do because once you go to one of these massive events you want to go to more of them. They are so much fun.
They also feature a rather talented artist and his works on comics called "Hash Boy" which embodies the spirit of the HHH pretty well.
The United State section, which applies to most of the people I know that don't reside in Asia would be interested in, is extremely helpful and is a rather huge portion of the site.
So there you have it, there are no more excuses for not getting involved unless you live somewhere that they are not allowing people to do things outdoors for virus reasons!
