Do You Think Science And Philosophy Should Be Connected?

So I thought of trying polls on @discutio for the first time since I got to know that it became available. So I make this poll because of all the Quantum Mechancis related content I've been going through.

You could try some related old articles from me below:

https://steemit.com/philosophy/@vimukthi/relational-quantum-mechanics-solution-for-the-paradox-of-the-ship-of-theseus-with-a-touch-of-zen-and-cryptocurrency

https://steemit.com/spirituality/@vimukthi/an-account-of-personal-realizations-after-meditating-for-over-an-our-and-the-things-it-clarified-for-me-about-the-world

https://steemit.com/blog/@vimukthi/philosophical-riddle-challenge-one-of-the-toughest-and-smartest-riddles-i-know-solution-will-be-revealed-in-5-days

Most of philosophy is just a bunch of ramblings of people who probably new nothing much at all. Sometimes it is just one person paraphrasing another person. If science says some philosophy is BS, then it shouldn't be considered legitimate. Science ad Math should be the ones that keep philosophy in check instead of some ideological warfare.

Science and Math is neutral and I consider that philosophy a something that could guide the science and I consider it to be something that can enhance the scientific progress. Neither are infallible as they are products of human beings who can easily get things wrong. But when effectively utilized they can be a great force like Yin and Yang being 2 sides of a coin IMO.

Should the sale of genetically modified food be banned?

A genetically modified organism (GMO) is any organism whose genetic material has been altered using genetic engineering techniques. The exact definition of a genetically modified organism and what constitutes genetic engineering techniques varies widely, with the most common being altered in a way that does "not occur naturally by mating and/or natural recombination". A wide variety of organisms have been genetically engineered, from animals to plants and microorganisms. Genes have been transferred within the same species, across species (creating transgenic organisms) and even across kingdoms. Would Mass Adoption Make Steem More Equal?

"Its great that Steem is becoming the blockchain that helps people in difficult economic environments to grow. It proves the fact that Steem is indeed the only blockchain actually functioning as an economy within itself and rewarding work outside of the coder community.

However, despite those positive factors and, despite the lowered price of STEEM, the cost to work your way out of the worthless upvote category and get yourself into just the $0.01 upvote value area requires 220 SP in today's market or a $61.60 financial investment. That's not extremely difficult for many people in the United States with a $10.50 minimum wage, but it can be rather difficult in many other places in the world. Even for thriving economies people often think twice about buying into anything online in the $50+ range.

It is undeniable that as more and more people adopt the Steem ecosystem that it will become more expensive to buy STEEM to power up your account for resource credit and upvote uses. For example, I bought a bunch of STEEM at $1.10 and at that time it required 125 SP to be able to dish out $0.01 valued upvotes. This means that it cost me $70.40 US dollars more than it would cost someone else for that same upvote valued at $0.01. Gradually, prices will go back up as online communities begin to recognize the value add to integrating Steem in their blogs, podcasts and what have you... This means it will become more and more difficult to acquire a large amount of STEEM to power up your account."

Original text and more here: https://steemit.com/steem/@hobo.media/would-mass-adoption-make-steem-more-equal

Credits to @hobo.media

What do you think about Nuclear (Fission) Power ?

After the Tchernobyl accident, and then again after the Fukushima Dai Ichi accident, a wave of hysteria has swept public opinion in Western countries and political representatives have had a hard time quelling the clamor to ban nuclear power and close the existing nuclear power plants. This agitation boiled over in Germany where the government of Angela Merkel announced a programmed shut-down of all the countries nuclear power plants.

What do you see as the pros and cons of Nuclear (Fission) Power?

Abortion Is Unethical

Many people I see on the left and some on the right think an unbaby does not have a right to life since it does not possess a consciousness and for me this purely stupid. The idea that a fetus(latin word for an unborn human being) lacks a consciousness so therefore killing it is ethical makes no sense since a person in a coma also lacks a conscious but I don't think anyone would think of killing a person in a coma. Same goes for this idea that it is a mother's choice to kill an unborn baby so it's okay, this idea in my opinion is even dumber since that will imply that other humans have the right to kill other human since its their "choice". The facts are an unborn baby has its own DNA and body so killing it is murder.

What kind of movies do you like?

A film genre is a motion-picture category based (for example) on similarities either in the narrative elements or in the emotional response to the film (namely: serious, comic, etc.). Most theories of film genre are borrowed from literary-genre criticism. Each film genre is associated with "conventions, iconography, settings, narratives, characters and actors". Standard genre characters vary according to the film genre; for film noir, standard characters are the femme fatale and the "hardboiled" detective; a Western film may portray the schoolmarm and the gunfighter. Some actors acquire a reputation linked to a single genre, such as John Wayne (the Western) or Fred Astaire (the musical). A film's genre will influence the use of filmmaking styles and techniques, such as the use of flashbacks and low-key lighting in film noir, tight framing in horror films, fonts that look like rough-hewn logs for the titles of Western films, or the "scrawled" title-font and credits of Se7en (1995), a film about a serial killer. As well, genres have associated film-scoring conventions, such as lush string orchestras for romantic melodramas or electronic music for science-fiction films. - Wikipedia
