Un fuerte abrazo a la comunidad de MUSIC y a todos los amantes de la música de nuestra blockchain y del mundo entero. Me encuentro estrenando una nueva sección, denominada “Talento Callejero” , decidí colocarle ese nombre para hacer referencia a esos maestros de la música que desde la calle nos atraen con sus espectaculares presentaciones.

A big hug to the MUSIC community and to all the music lovers of our blockchain and the whole world. I am launching a new section, called "Street Talent", I decided to give it that name to refer to those masters of music that attract us from the street with their spectacular presentations.

Y esta entrega está dedicada al maestro Javier, musico peruano especializado en instrumentos de viento, especialmente aquellos relacionados a la cultura andina. Javier aparte de deleitarnos con su presentación musical, nos habla un poco de cada uno de los instrumentos que utiliza en su performance. Así que disfruten de este recorrido fotográfico, y por supuesto del recurso audiovisual que encabeza esta publicación.

Quena, Quenacho….¿es lo mismo?

Bien dice el dicho que cada día se aprende algo nuevo. De verdad no sabía de la diferencia entre estos dos términos hasta que interactúe con Javier. Él nos explica que la quena tiende a ser más pequeña, como la que se muestra a continuación:

Javier, apart from delighting us with his musical presentation, tells us a little about each of the instruments he uses in his performance. Quena, Quenacho....is it the same?

As the saying goes, you learn something new every day. I really didn't know the difference between these two terms until I interacted with Javier. He explains that the quena tends to be smaller, like the one shown below:

Por su parte el Quenacho tiende a ser más alargado y con un sonido más grave. Tanto la Quena como el Quenacho tienen en común que pueden venir en diferentes tonalidades, acotando que esta variedad de instrumentos no tiene una presentación cromática, y esto es una importante diferencia con la flauta dulce. En la imagen que sigue el maestro Javier nos muestra el Quenacho.

On the other hand, the Quenacho tends to be more elongated and with a deeper sound. Both the Quena and the Quenacho have in common that they can come in different tonalities, noting that this variety of instruments does not have a chromatic presentation, and this is an important difference with the recorder. Ahora le llegó el turno a la Zampoña, un instrumento que he conocido acá en el Perú y desde el cual he interpretado algunas cancones para la comunidad, acá una de ellas:

Si bien había leído un poco sobre la variedad de estos instrumentos, nunca había tenido una clase magistral del tema, y el maestro Javier se encargó de esto para así poder traerles todos estos conocimientos. Así como en la familia del Flautas Dulces, tenemos el Tenor, Contra-Alto, Soprano, (te dejo el enlace de esta publicación donde abordo este tema: https://hive.blog/hive-193816/@eliaschess333/plulsstk) en el mundo de estos instrumentos de Bambú también tenemos variedades, a continuación les presento al “SEMI - TOYO”

El sonido que emite este instrumento es bastante grave, y su ejecución exige mucho diafragma por la gran longitud de los tubos que proporcionan las notas graves. Javier nos cuenta que de esta variedad tenemos una más grande que sería el “TOYO” . Y alejándonos un poco de los sonidos graves tenemos el “BASTO”

The sound emitted by this instrument is quite low, and its execution requires a lot of diaphragm due to the great length of the tubes that provide the bass notes. Javier tells us that of this variety we have a larger one which would be the "TOYO". And moving away from the bass sounds we have the "BASTO".

Haciendo una analogía con la familia de Flautas Dulces, este instrumento viene siendo como el Contra-Alto, como pueden apreciar la longitud de los tubos no es tan larga en comparación del SEMI-TOYO. Finalmente llegamos a la ZAMPOÑA, acá el maestro Javier nos presenta su ZAMPOÑA cromática, es decir, la misma tiene todas las tonalidades.

Making an analogy with the family of recorders, this instrument is like the Contra-Alto, as you can see the length of the tubes is not so long compared to the SEMI-TOYO. Javier nos indica que le resulta más práctico las zampoñas que vienen por tonalidad, así como la que te mostré en el anterior video la cual está afinada en sol mayor, es decir, el fa es sostenido. Si tenemos una canción que se encuentre en La Mayor, simplemente no la podría ejecutar. Digamos que con la zampoña cromática se solventaría ese problema, espero tener pronto una de estas en mis manos, para comenzar a practicar.
