English I started playing chess at the age of 14, a somewhat late start to become a prodigy, however, with the sport I discovered maturity and responsibility. I acquired discipline that all parents want when you are a teenager since you "own what you do in life". My days were a combination of studying and attending my classes in the morning, and chess in the afternoon and evening. I learned how to assimilate the lost and won games, while missing holidays and other important events with friends, because I had tournaments on the calendar.

Español Comencé a jugar ajedrez a los 14 años, un inicio algo tarde para volverme un prodigio, sin embargo con el deporte descubrí madurez y responsabilidad adquirí disciplina que todos los padres quieren cuando uno es un adolescente ya que tu “eres dueño de lo que haces en la vida”, mis días eran una combinación entre estudio de mis clases en las mañanas y el ajedrez tarde y noche, descubrí en saber asimilar las partidas perdidas y ganadas, perder días festivos con amigos, perderme de eventos importantes, ya que tenía varios torneos en calendario.

English I participated in several state and national events at the youth level, and even an international event which was open in my country. I had good performances, and even though I started playing at a later age, I was motivated to move forward in improving my game. It was quite different then and the technology we utilize today did not exist, and you had to train and discover many things for yourself. While some may not have had talent, but if tried to understand the game of the 64 squares, after years of training you understand a little more as an adult because your brain is shaped by this training This is what we call experience.

Español 3 Participe en varios eventos a nivel juvenil como estadales, nacionales y en un evento internacional el cual fue en un abierto en mi país, tuve buenas actuaciones ya que comencé a jugar a una tardía edad, pero eso fue una motivación más para seguir avanzando en mejorar mi juego, antes no había esa tecnología como hoy en día, debías entrenar y descubrir muchas cosas por ti mismo algunos no podremos tener talento, pero si trataríamos de entender el juego de las 64 casillas, cuando eres adulto tu cerebro se forma de una forma que años de entrenar entiendes un poco más el juego eso llamamos experiencia.

English 4 When I participated in tournaments, and saw children playing against doctors, lawyers and engineers—people like you—it was fascinating. Creativity has no age. You faced strong people at a very young age and it was incredible to see the motivation of many kids, to see us arrive with very heavy backpacks full of chess books, because nowadays you carry a USB, a computer or a cell phone. You already have plenty of information about chess.

Español 4 Cuando participaba en los torneos y veía a niños jugar contra Doctores, Abogados e Ingenieros, personas como ustedes y era fascinante. La creatividad no tiene edad. A edad muy temprana te enfrentabas a personas fuertes y era increíble de ver la motivación de muchos chicos, ver a nosotros llegar con mochilas muy pesadas llenas de libros de ajedrez, ya que hoy en día llevas una USB, un computador o móvil ya tienes infinidad de información sobre ajedrez.

English 5 All motivation involves a lot of effort and sacrifice. At the end of the day, you feel great because you are trying to reach that stepping stone, one step at a time to achieve a goal. I left the game for an important person in my life, as I needed to spend more time with friends and family.

Español 5 Toda motivación conlleva un gran esfuerzo y sacrificio. Al final del día te sientes muy bien porque tratas de alcanzar ese escalón, un paso a la vez para conseguir una meta. Deje el juego por una persona importante en mi vida, ya que requería pasar más tiempo con amigos y familiares.

English 6 We are already in the digital era. and the virtual area has added many elements that today have a presence in it. There are several platforms to play chess online and practice this sport, and this has made me return to the boards in a virtual way. This has motivated me to train again and remember that competitive spirit of years ago. In the online games, I’ve been able to meet again with my friends, who I hadn’t seen since the last event I competed in many years ago.

Español 6 Estamos ya en la era digital y el área virtual ha sumado a muchas cosas que hoy en día tiene presencia en la misma, existen varias plataformas para jugar ajedrez online y practicar este deporte. Eso me hizo que regresara a los tableros de forma virtual. Motivo que me ha hecho entrenar nuevamente y recordar ese espíritu competitivo de hace años. En el juego online pude reencontrar nuevamente con mis amistades, ya que no los veía desde el último evento que competían ya hace muchos años.

English 7 I came to this community through a friend who reminded me about my passion for chess and encouraged me to share a little of that experience. The world is full of many curiosities, and I would like to contribute a few of the many in the sport that I practice. I would also like to show many curious things to people that perhaps we do not know as we must try to discover them.
