I have wanted to go to Coron, Palawan for as long as I can remember.
Not the kind of want where you just save a photo and forget about it. The real kind.
The kind where you actually look up how to get there, how much it costs, how many days you need, and then close the tab because life gets in the way again.
That has been me for years now.
I grew up in Samar so the ocean is not new to me. I know what it feels like to sit in front of the water and just let your brain go quiet. But Coron looks like a different level of that entirely. Crystal clear lakes, secret lagoons, white sand beaches and colorful coral reefs, the kind of place that looks unreal even in photos. Every time someone posts about it on social media I stop scrolling. Every single time.
What gets me most is Kayangan Lake. Based on what I’ve read, Kayangan Lake known as the cleanest lake in Asia, surrounded by limestone and that ridiculous shade of blue green water. I want to stand there with my family and just take it all in. No rush. No plans after. Just that moment.
And the island hopping. Kayangan Lake, Twin Lagoon, the World War II shipwrecks, all of it in one trip. My lola has never seen anything like that. I keep imagining going there with my family and watching their faces see it for the first time. That is honestly the version of the trip I want the most.
Of course, I know that Coron will not disappear. But what about that version of my family who are all together? What about that version where I can bring all of them to go there?
So this is me putting it out there. Coron, we are coming. It has taken too long already and I am done waiting for the perfect time.
The perfect time is whenever we can finally make it happen❤️
