In today's college learning environment, several flaws can affect education. University system controls the life of students and professors at the same time by offering specific hours that can limit their time. Giving students the freedom to make their schedules can lead to having them to stay longer than they are supposed to stay compared to students that follow the right track. Different class sizes can affect student learning by lowering the knowledge and information for this particular class. The methods that different professors use to teach students can influence the degree of learning that each student will receive. College System has issues for both students and teachers that affects the student's future and their learning process.
College students have some problems that can curves their life with dangerous new changes. Some students will be euphoric, because of going to college, but when the parents take their hands off with the cost part, here everything will start to change. Loans and the cost of college give the impression of becoming in huge trouble, especially when student spend a lot on the education system; Spending a good amount of money for school can make the students stressful before they graduate and after. With all of this, they should care about their classes and try to get good grades for their benefit after graduation. After all of this hard mind working they will face the biggest problem and that because they’re not getting enough sleep. It is critical to get enough sleep to perform at your best. Being over tired will affect your life in a negative way. Also, sleepiness can make it harder to get along with friends and family.
College students chose their classes for every semester with hope for graduating in the identified year. But not all those learner get the chance to reach that determined year that set for them since the day they enter college as a Freshman. A lot of factors contribute to students plan and prevent them from reaching their goal to graduate on time. Although every student has an advisor to guide them through the process, they also might not be available to schedule a meeting with them. Also, registration for classes can’t be controlled by anyone, and not all student get what they want as it planned with their advisor. Moreover, some professor makes it hard to the student to succeed in a course with their strict rules. In that case, they will decide to drop the course and be behind their plan. There are even some courses that not being offered in specific semesters; students, in that case, need to wait another semester to take that particular class they are required to make.
A critical part of teaching is to check for understanding. If a professor does not include some form of tests or activity in where the student is required to use the knowledge they learned in class, then that professor will have no way to know if their students are learning and understanding their material. Another factor that influences the way teachers can teach is the number of students in each class. Classes in college can range from lecture hall classes where there can be almost three hundred people to classes that are more specialized and only have about six people. If there are one professor and three hundred students, how are they supposed to teach as well as the professor that only has six students? The teacher with three hundred students will never be able to spend individual time with each student, where the professor with six students will spend several different hours helping each student with what they need help on. If every professor in every single college were an “involved” one, then that would be optimal for student learning, but unfortunately, that is not the case.
The education system affect students learning and put more pressure on them by creating more problems. College environment creates a transition for the students by transferring them from high school to college and at the same time to professors by developing their skills and limit it to what they have on the ground (new students). Giving students the freedom to make their schedules can lead to having them to stay longer than they are supposed to stay compared to students that follow the right track.
