"Near, far, wherever you are. I believe that the heart does go on."
Do these lyrics ring a bell? Absolutely. Who wouldn't remember the epic story of Jack (Leonardo DiCaprio) and Rose (Kate Winslet), and the ship of dreams?
We have been astonished with the well-known artists, Leonardo Dicaprio and Kate Winslet, as they portrayed the role of Jack Dawson and Rose DeWitt Bukater in the epic movie Titanic.
Titanic is a 1997 romance disaster film directed, written, co-produced and co-edited by James Cameron, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet. The Titanic follows the story of Rose as she is forced to marry an affluent, snobbish man, Caledon Hockely (Billy Zane), which she never dreamt of.
As the story progresses, Rose boarded the departuring ship, Titanic, with her fiancé, Caledon, and her mother, Ruth. She felt helplessly trapped by her situation and made her way to the deck of the ship and thought of having suicide. Jack, on the other hand, who has made his living making sketches on the streets of Paris and who won a third-class ticket to the ship on a game, saved Rose from her plan of putting her life to an end.
Jack and Rose fell in love. Their secret affair was hidden until one night, their persistent love for one another turned into a struggle for survival on a ship about to droop to the bottom of the cold, freezing water of the North Atlantic. Titanic, broken in half and facing the dark ocean floor, began its final voyage into the darkness. Rose survived, keeping with her the promise she had made to Jack that she would never give up and that she would live. But, tragically, Jack wasn't able to survive and was frozen to death.
The film is a total treat for the eyes with its grand sets to the detailed costumes and from its marvelous and rich-colored cinematography up to the steamless editing that really keeps the viewer engaged. Performances are extraordinary by the entire cast. Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet did a great turn in their acting.
What makes the movie grotesque and interesting is that 84 years after the shipwreck of the Titanic and a hundred of years of Rose's existence, her love for Jack remained in her heart and he will always be the love of her life.
To wrap it all up, here is the bottom line: The iceberg did tear the Titanic apart, but it didn't tear the love between Jack and Rose. Instead, it strengthened their love all through the ages up to eternity, conquering the unconquerable.
This movie is a must watch. I'd give this one 10/10.
Thank you for reading! This is honestly my first time making a review about a movie. I've read some articles about the movie and made them my guide in making my own.Hope you guys enjoyed it.
