You ask me why do I always cry when I hear this song.

That is not the only song that makes me cry, there are several others and I also cry on some documentaries.
They all bring some memories, some situations, some people and some feelings that bring tears to my eyes.

But when it comes to this particular song…

I was just a little boy, but I remember it vividly.

The guy is about to go to the battlefront in a few days and now he is in kafana with all of his friends. It is a farewell of some sort. The last song of the night was that song.

A few days later is departure day.

All of his family is on the train station, his friends are there also, but there are hundreds of young men like him, going to the front, just like him, and their families and friends are there and they are all saying goodbyes and wishing good luck.

All of the young men enter the train, and the train is about to go, and all of these soldiers start singing that song as one. Like it is some sort of unofficial anthem, like it is their song.

And it was. It was their goodbye.

They know that some of them will never come back and that song is their goodbye.

That song is not my cup of tea, but the words, oh the words, they always get me, they always fuck me up.

And whenever I hear that song it brings back the memory of that day…

And I always cry…

НЕДЕЉА И СВИ СТЕ ТУ, СВЕ ПОДСЕЋА НА СРЕЋУ…
