Sasha's Signature Iced Matcha Latte

The Iced Matcha Latte is a refreshing and nourishing beverage that is both simple to make and delightful to enjoy. This drink is an excellent alternative for those looking for a healthy energy boost. To craft this latte, high-quality matcha green tea powder is whisked with a small amount of hot water to create a smooth paste. This vibrant green mixture is then combined with cold almond milk, sweetener to taste, and ice to create a creamy and frothy chilled drink. The result is a perfectly balanced latte, with the natural earthy flavors of the matcha complemented by the nutty sweetness of the almond milk.

Ingredients:

- 2 teaspoons of matcha powder

- 1/4 cup of boiling water (adjust based on the size of your glass)

- Ice cubes

- Almond milk (or any milk of your choice), as needed

- Stevia, agave, or sweetener of your choice, to taste (optional)

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 0 minutes

Total Time: 5 minutes

Servings: 1 Iced Matcha Latte

Equipment: A bowl, bamboo whisk, teaspoon, glass, water kettle

Instructions:

1. Start by heating your water with a kettle until boiling.

2. Take a bowl big enough for whisking matcha. Add 2 teaspoons of matcha powder into the bowl. (I prefer my matcha strong, but you can adjust the amount to suit your taste.)

3. Pour in just enough hot water to mix with the matcha powder. Aim for a paste-like consistency for better whisking.

4. Now, take your bamboo whisk and focus on crumbling any lumps of matcha, bringing them to the center of the bowl.

5. With the whisk, begin whisking briskly in a 'W' or zigzag motion. Continue until the matcha is fully dissolved and a layer of foam forms on top – it should look creamy and somewhat 'foamier' than when you started.

6. Fill a glass all the way to the top with ice cubes.

7. Pour in your almond milk (or milk of choice) until the glass is roughly 75% full.

8. Gently pour the whisked matcha over the milk. Watch it cascade into your milk to create the perfect blend.

9. Optionally, add your choice of sweetener to taste. Give it a quick stir, if needed.

10. Voilà! You now have a refreshing, energizing, and incredibly delightful Iced Matcha Latte.

Cooking Tips:

- Adjust the matcha quantity to your liking. Some prefer a lighter taste with 1 to 1.5 teaspoons.

- Make sure your matcha is of high quality for the best taste and health benefits.
