Ingredients:

- Approximately 2 cups (470g) water, heated to approximately 205 degrees Fahrenheit (for Hot Bloom Method)

- Additional 4 cups (940g) cold water (for Hot Bloom Method after the bloom)

- Cheesecloth or a fine mesh strainer

- CoffeeSock or pour-over filter like a Chemex (optional for filtering)

Instructions:

Immersion Cold Brew Method:

1. Coarsely grind 1.5 cups (80g) of coffee beans to a consistency similar to coarse cornmeal.

2. Place the ground coffee in a half-gallon mason jar or any half-gallon container.

3. Pour 6 cups (1400g) of cold or room temperature filtered water over the grounds.

4. Stir the mixture well to ensure all grounds are fully hydrated.

5. Seal the container with a lid and refrigerate it for 12-24 hours—12 hours for a lighter brew, 24 hours for a stronger one.

6. After the brewing time, strain the coffee through a fine mesh strainer lined with cheesecloth, or use another preferred method such as a CoffeeSock or pour-over filter.

Hot Bloom Cold Brew Method:

1. Start with the same coarsely ground coffee prepared for the Immersion method.

2. Add 1/3 of your total water, heated to around 205 degrees Fahrenheit, to the coffee grounds.

3. Stir to hydrate the grounds and let it sit for precisely one minute.

4. After one minute, pour the remaining 4 cups (940g) of cold water into the mixture to cool it down.

5. Stir again, cover, and place the mixture in the refrigerator for 12-24 hours, depending on your desired strength.

6. Strain the coffee as you would for the Immersion method, choosing your preferred filtration technique.
