Did you know that when you say words like “their” or “fog” or “egg” you are actually saying words that derive from Old Norse? These words were brought to England by the Vikings between the 9th and 11th centuries.
Old Norse made it as far west as Vinland in North America (maybe even further west?) around the year 1,000 AD.
And oh yeah…"Thursday” is named for the Norse god Thor.
