Hey all, this is a call to action for anyone to come and setup a VSC devnet node and help work out bugs in the software. In the following days we will activate the witness system and start anchor record production through the witness schedule. For this we need a minimum of 5-11 nodes to operate. Preferably, a minimum of 20 nodes, but for now a lower number of nodes is acceptable.
Requirements:
- Hive account (50HP, will rise in the future)
- Technical knowledge of the CLI
System requirements are extremely minimal at the moment. However, in the future they will rise.
System requirements:
- Raspberry pi 4 or better
Important notes:
You will be required to stay informed on recent news & keep your node up to date when new updates become available. It is also strongly recommended to backup the config file created when your node first starts up. (Located in ./data/vsc-node/config)

This is beta software, the devnet is only be used for the purpose of aiding the development process. Do not expect this to be useful to anyone (atleast not yet)
The setup:

You'll need to create a .env file with the following values from the .env.example file.

You should be off to the races at this point! We can verify that your node is operating correctly on our discord server.
Slight apology
We have delayed putting off more information about what VSC is and why it exists (not intentionally). So to some this might come as a shock that a testnet exists well before many public details are available. Nonetheless we will be putting out a larger blog post soon explaining VSC in much more detail. Stay tuned!
