vSphere Client - used to manage ESXi host directly.

  1. NTP - all hosts need to point to a time server that point to a time service. Don't use vmtools to sync time.
  2. DNS
  3. other configurations
  4. Syslog - logs rotate and are not maintained long by default. All important logs should be sent to a syslog server
* VMware logs are maintained in /scratch/log, /var/log or /var/run/ log
*   Configuration/Software/Advanced settings/syslog/global
        -  under SYSLOG.global.logHost add loghost
        -  udp://ipaddress:port
