vSphere Client - used to manage ESXi host directly.
- NTP - all hosts need to point to a time server that point to a time service. Don't use vmtools to sync time.

- Syslog - logs rotate and are not maintained long by default. All important logs should be sent to a syslog server
* VMware logs are maintained in /scratch/log, /var/log or /var/run/ log
* Configuration/Software/Advanced settings/syslog/global
- under SYSLOG.global.logHost add loghost
- udp://ipaddress:port

Accessing ESXi
1. DCUI - direct
2. vSphere client - requirements
* windows OS and .net 3.5 sp1
* Open ports 903, 902 and 443
3. SSH access - SSH is disabled by default and should be kept off until you need it.
* Can be managed via DCUI, CLI, or either client.
* You can use any SSH client to connect to the daemon
* Enable from the host by configuration/software/security profile/services/SSH
* Select the properties link > enable it
* Open putty (or your favorite SSH client) and log in as root to access
