Specialists from the University of California at Berkeley could visualize the thought process. They showed two videos demonstrating the work of the brain.
Scientists from the University of California, Berkeley were able to visualize the process of "movement" of thought through the brain. The corresponding video was published on YouTube channel UC Berkeley.
The video was created after scientists conducted experiments. They were attended by 16 patients with epilepsy, whose brains needed careful study to determine the source of the seizures.
Specialists attached hundreds of electrodes directly to the surface of the brain during the procedure, after which they suggested participants perform various tasks.
The video demonstrates the process in the brain, which was followed by the task of "hearing and repeating" the word. In particular, the participants had to repeat the word "important".
The video demonstrates the work of the prefrontal cortex during word processing. Another video demonstrates how the brain performs a more complex task - finding an antonym to the word heard.
