I recently watched the video "THIS IS AMERICA" which caused a lot of controversy due to its aggressive and revealing content, it seemed to me a video that shows the reality that exists in the United States with the African American community which is very marked and mistreated by its culture and his skin tone. Personally, I recommend that you watch the video that dares with a brief explanation of what he wants to show the world because of what he read and causes me great interest.
First scene:
In the first scene, it is observed that the singer shoots a man in the head, he makes a peculiar pose to shoot that they have compared with that of Jim Crow; a character that represented the laws of racial segregation in the United States in the mid-nineteenth century.
Second scene:
The singer enters dancing to a room in which he sings a Gospel choir and then assassinates all the choristers with an AK-7 rifle; apparently it is a reference to the massacre of Charleston, South Carolina, in 2015. In which a white man killed 9 African-Americans in a church that is a symbol of the struggle for civil rights in the United States.
Third scene:
When you see several teenagers recording with their cell phones, it can be interpreted as a representation of the case of the young African American Stephon Clark, who was shot seven times by police officers believing he was armed when in fact he was unarmed and only had his cell phone in his hand.
Many also think that it is a way to show how important cell phones and social networks have been to denounce cases of racism and police abuses.
Fourth scene:
The rider on a white horse that enters a scene in which the singer dances with children apparently has to do with a passage from the Bible, from the book of Revelation, which says:
"... and I saw a pale horse; and the one who rode it was called Death, and Hell followed it ... "
