Vacation has officially started š
By the time this blog is posted we should have arrived at our destination in Florida. I have not been to Florida since 2016, that year I was lucky enough to go twice. Once was with my younger brother, we drove to Sarasota together. Then again later that summer I drove down to Jacksonville with my parents and brother to catch a cruise to the Bahamas. That was one of the best summers ever! I am so thrilled to finally be going back to Florida, this time it will be just @flowerbaby and myself. We are headed to Vilano Beach in Saint Augustine, FL. I made a post back in February about the place we are staying there, you can view that here.
St. Augustine is well known for it's Spanish architecture, some of USA's oldest military forts (such as that found at Castillo De San Marcos), and most importantly great waves. I have never been to this place before, but I have a feeling I am going to be very happy that I finally visited.
We are planning to leave around 3 or 4am Saturday morning. This should have us arriving in the early afternoon sometime. It's quite the drive from here in West Virginia, 10 1/2 hours to be exact. Of course as soon as we decide to leave, the weather here has finally jumped up to 80Ā° and above. I still haven't had much of an opportunity to get a solid base tan. So I am going to have to play nice with the sun down in Florida.
I have spent some time packing everything that I need for this trip. Most of it is the typical stuff you were near the beach, but the most interesting stuff is of course my outfits. We will have a washer and dryer at our Airbnb, but I still opted to bring an outfit for each day. I know we will be taking a lot of photographs and I think it will be a lot easier to know which photos are from which days if I am wearing a different outfit every single day. The same goes for what I will be wearing at the beach. We will be at the same beach every day so it will be hard to tell which day is which unless you were looking at the dates connected to the photo files. However when wearing something different every single day it will be very obvious that certain things are not occurring in the same 24 hours.
I have trained myself to be able to pack very light. I have even taken a two week vacation to the Caribbean before and didn't even pack one pair of socks. I also very much have the capability to pack way too much. As a child I always seemed to bring too many things to the beach with me, then as an adult I learned that I could get by with far less. Luckily I have plenty of luggage and the option to bring four or five bags if I choose to. And that is exactly what I'm doing for this trip. I will be making use of all of my Pink Dolphin luggage and filling it to the brim with stuff that we may or may not need while in Florida.
If it is not already very obvious did you, I absolutely love blue and green. Teal and turquoise are my favorite colors of all. Perhaps it is because those colors remind me of the ocean, or maybe it's just the fact that my eyes are blue-green. Either way that is my color and every single pair of shorts (besides swimming trunks and underwear) that I'm bringing with me fits into that realm of blue and green.
I cannot wait to see what all @flowerbaby and I get to experience while in St. Augustine, FL. I will absolutely be sharing some awesome stuff here on my blog. I look forward to creating more, but even more so look forward to experiencing these things with my girlfriend.
Packed up and ready to go
It's a very satisfying feeling when I finish getting everything together to leave for my trips, especially the longer ones where I have to bring more things. Is it bad that I am brining 6 pairs of shoes and a djebme drum? It's okay, Lord Wave does whatever he pleases when going to the beach.
Thanks for checking out my blog šš¤
This trip is going to be so much fun. You will see, just be patient.
