Day 6 in Florida
Immediately upon waking Thursday morning, I had a very strong urge for toe salad. Luckily @flowerbaby had some prepared for me and I was able to take my first crunchy bite of the day.
After we finished breakfast our next destination was the beach. @flowerbaby becomes a real life mermaid once she slips her goggles on. She is able to wear her waterproof Shark watch in the ocean, but I’m afraid to wear my Apple Watch out there.
We alternated our time between getting smashed by waves, relaxing in our chairs under the canopy, and laying on our towels in the sand.
The walk back to the Airbnb is always so much more difficult than the walk out to the beach. The wagon seems twice as heavy for multiple reasons. The first being that we are nearly spent after swimming in the endless waves for hours. Plus the walk back is uphill and the wagon is designed for flat surfaces and downhill. Luckily the wheels are meant for sand, so it still works okay. I’m always so happy to be back to our place once we finally make it through all of the sand.
We made a trip to One Twenty Three Burger House to replenish ourselves after beaching. The burgers were very tasty on some buttery brioche buns. Despite being outside nearly all day, we still wanted to sit out on the covered porch. Luckily we got there just a few minutes before the dinner crowd rushed in to fill the parking lot and porch both.
We had dessert plans elsewhere, so we made sure to not get too full from our burgers. It was 904 Churros that our sweet tooth’s led us to next. @flowerbaby ordered a giant bending churro covered in marshmallow and Oreos, on a mountain of ice cream. I got a box five mega churros, I only ate two and saved the rest for later. Churros are one of my favorite desserts and these did not disappoint.
By the time we finished burgers and churros, we were stuffed. We chilled at the Airbnb for an hour or so to wait for the sun to begin to set. Once it hit about 7:30pm, we took a very short drive down to the Vilano Beach pier again. We had been there the previous day during the afternoon, but heard it was the perfect place to catch the sunset. That we did, photographs to prove it too. Just look at the combination of mushrooms and strawberries that @flowerbaby pulled off with her cute red outfit.
There was a small dock with several pillars just below the main pier. We of course were curious what the view was like from there as well, so we made our way down. I think we got some of the best photos of the trip when we sat beside each other to gaze towards the sun, our feet dangling above the calm waters.
We left the pier/pavilion and realized we were also at the St Augustine Marina as we walked back to the car. We got our last look at the sunset during this moment. Then I noticed a few dolphins on the ground, so I had to get a photo with them since they are my spirit animal.
We spent the rest of the night relaxing and watching the first two episodes of Ragnarok season 2 on Netflix. I had been waiting what seems like ages for the second season to release. So far it’s freaking awesome and full of surprises. I can’t wait to finish it and see what happens.
Thanks for checking out my blog 😎🤝
We have one last day left here in Florida, it’s a bittersweet feeling. It will be nice to be back home once we finish our long drive, but it’s a shame we do not have the beach back in West Virginia. It is so clear to me that @flowerbaby and I both love the ocean tremendously. It just doesn’t feel right having to leave, I can tell that neither one of us are happy about it one bit. I won’t let that keep us from enjoying our last say here to the fullest.
