Day 3 in Florida
@flowerbaby and I have been waking up so early every single day. I blame that on the fact that we are so excited to be at the beach, plus the sunlight is usually beaming in through the blinds to remind us that we don’t need to sleep the morning away. The crisp breeze and toned down sun early in the day are something I couldn’t imagine missing. We have been spending the first few hours of the day on our back porch under the canopy. It is there that we have a light breakfast and catch some early rays with weak UV. I also spend some time crafting my blog about our previous day. Around 10am or so we start getting ready for the beach. We typically stay there from about 11am-3:30pm. Yesterday @flowerbaby and I wore matching swimsuits that she got us.
Since @flowerbaby just finished her 200 hour yoga teacher training very recently and will be teaching classes very soon, she wanted me to capture some photos of her doing yoga on the beach. As I type this around 9:30am on Tuesday and she is going down into our yoga circle at our Airbnb to do some more yoga, pictures of that will be in tomorrow’s post. I can tell that she really loves yoga and I’m happy that she will be able to make it her job soon, even if it’s only part time at first. I believe that eventually she will have the opportunity to teach more classes than she can imagine.
As soon as she finished capturing her yoga on the water’s edge, we were off to swim in the ocean for the first time on Monday. It was even better than Sunday’s water. The weather is perfect here, the water clear, and the waves amplified more so than a place like the Gulf Coast. I cannot imagine going on a vacation just the two of us and not bringing my tripod. I’ve gotten so used to using it that it’s basically like a third person. We are able to stage all of our photos together with only minor efforts. It’s as if we have a paid photographer with us here at Vilano Beach. We have to play by the Sun’s rules however. It depends on what time of the day as to where our shadows will cast. So it is interesting to figure out which direction and at what time will be the best for us to pose. We must figure out how to keep the shadows off of our face, but also not have the sun directly in our eyes so that we are not blinded. It’s a difficult game to play, but I enjoy it a lot and am determined to win always.
It wouldn’t be a proper Vilano Beach blog without a few photos of @flowerbaby sleeping on the beach. Of course it happened again and I made sure to capture this girl catching some quick z’s. I love her so much. She looks like a flower cow girl in a straight jacket.
As you will see in these next photos that were taken later in the day, the sun was in a much better position. Our shadows were no longer on our faces and the sun was above us instead of behind or in front. These are some of my favorite photos of the trip so far. I just love how we match and the ocean behind us is the ideal backdrop.
Here @flowerbaby is in her zen zone. If I didn’t know her and just happened upon these photos while scrolling my feed, I’d think she was a trippy hippie yoga teaching cutie. As a matter of fact that’s exactly what she is.
After spending most of the day at the beach, we came home and got ready to go out for some lunch/dinner. I broke out one of my favorite Pink Dolphin shirts that I own. I’ve had it for years, but this is the first time it has actually fit me correctly. Pairing that with one of my favorite pair of LeBron X’s (Easter Edition) and boom I’m feeling quite fashionable. My girl was looking pretty fly too, check out that colorful outfit with her moo moo cow earrings that she made herself. We went to eat at Tijuana Flats, which was actually really good. It’s a Tex-Mex place that is borderline fast food, but not quite. They had about 15-20 different hot sauces to choose from out in the lobby, we both opted for mild. It all paired wonderfully with the churro balls, one of my favorite desserts.
@flowerbaby was feeling kind of sleepy after our meal, so I drove to Dunkin’ Donuts to get her an iced coffee in hopes of amping her up again. Right next to Dunkin’ was a pretty pink butterfly mural. I insisted that we get just a few more photographs of her there. At first she was hesitant since she was super exhausted, but she quickly changed her mind when she realized the art would look fantastic with her outfit. She and I both were accurate in our assumptions, the final photos of the day were nothing short of spectacular.
We concluded the day by finishing Army of the Dead on Netflix back at our Airbnb. It was actually one of the best zombie movies that I have seen in quite awhile. The lead role is filled by former wrestler Bautista. If you’re a fan of the undead, then definitely check this one out.
Thanks for checking out my blog 😎🤝
Our third day at Vilano Beach in St Augustine, Florida was yet another great one. Thankfully we do not leave until Saturday morning. As I’m finishing this post, @flowerbaby just got back from doing yoga out in the grass down below on Tuesday. We are about to begin day 4 now by getting ready for the beach on this breezy Tuesday. I look forward to everything we do today and sharing it all here on my blog the following day
