News broke overnight that Cash App in the USA is now allowing users to send and receive Bitcoin Lightning payments from the app on their phones. I'm not in the US and can't try this out.

What this means, subject to one of you actually testing it for me, is that you can move Hive and HBD direct into Lightning on your Cash App! I am not able to test or play with what this means, whether you can then convert that straight into USD or other crypto on your phone, but I suspect you will be able to.
If all this is true it means there is now a very simple, cheap way to convert HBD and Hive to small amounts of fiat.
Detailed instructions can be found in this post under "Filling up with Sats" but the basic steps are:
- Go into Cash App and generate a "Lightning Invoice" for a few thousand sats: it'll be something that starts
lnbc..... Cash App will probably show you a QR code but you'll also be able to copy-paste the actual invoice. - Head over to lnd.v4v.app and paste your "Lightning Invoice" into the box. You'll be told how much that is in HBD or Hive. This works nicely using the in-app browser in the HiveKeychain app if you want to do it on mobile.
- Use Keychain or Hivesigner to sign the transaction and you'll transfer some Hive to the account @v4vapp (that's me).
- My system will pay your Lightning invoice, and return your change as Hive or HBD.
And bingo you should have Sats in your Cash App.
Please give this a try!
Just for the occasion I've turned on a way for you to get free Sats though I don't know if this will work till someone tells me it's possible on the Cash app!
If you can get an invoice for exactly 1033 sats from Cash App then paste that into my lnd.v4v.app site. Send a transfer with only 0.001 Hive and I'll pay for the sats for free!
And finally....
