Ulog - Listening To Music Takes The Sadness Away

Of course, it isn't music alone but it definitely helps.

When sadness comes, we know there are things we cannot do and sometimes it feels like things are out of control - irreparable and a complete mess. Despite trying to do well in life, we stumble and fall. We might have felt hopeless at times and that we do not deserve anymore of the good that this world brings but, God is merciful. He understands our limitations as humans. What we can do is pray to Him. This act absolutely takes every bit of sadness away because you are giving Him your reservations and trusting Him that He will do what is best for us.

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7 (King James Version)

Pray with a good heart and with thanksgiving. Pray even if we are not sad. Praying to Him makes Him happy because it only means we are remembering Him, and that we acknowledge Him as the Almighty, the only One who can do all things.

Do not fret if He doesn't give us what we prayed for. He has better plans. Actually, He has the best plans and nothing - no one - can do it like He does. He already knows what we would ask Him before we even speak. That's how great He is!

Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.
Matthew 6:8 (King James Version)

A Song Of Praise Music Festival

UNTV Public Service Channel airs a program every Sunday at 7 p.m. (PHT) where composers submit their works and judges will see who has written the best song for that week, and which of these songs will make it into the Grand Finals. The twist here is the songs are songs of praises. It's like a love song for God.

A Song of Praise Music Festival will be having its 7th year and as far as I know, the competition is now preparing for its Grand Finals by the end of the year. There will be twelve (12) spots for songs that made it into the finals. I can't wait for it!

If you want to check the program out, visit them on their wesbite here.

What do I mean by listening to music takes the sadness away? Take for example a broken heart. One won't be able to express his/her sadness alone and most times music accompanies the weeping heart. It is because music can speak for us. Music understands us in a way not most of our friends can, and good lyrics can definitely make it lonesome. On one hand, these songs of praises help us feel the sadness that we have and take it away slowly because this kind of music is intended to make us feel that we are not alone as compared to sad love songs making us remember the ones we miss.

Lyrics that whisper encouragement and love. We all need that. Even if our friends don't understand us, God can and God will so if we don't want to talk to anybody about the sadness we are trying to hide, pray and listen to songs of praises. Loneliness doesn't seem so scary afterwards.
