This is Mr. Edgar Ellago awarded as one of the ten Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipino. He says that there is no such thing as a four-walled classroom. That the re of a teacher does not stop once classroom doors are closed.
From formulating culture based instructional materials, mentoring students in various cultural competitions, to helping scholars in continuing college education, He really has constantly looked dor ways to extend hus arts and culture advicacy beyond t&e classroom and into a larger community.
As I listen to what he wanted to say, he really has a heart of a hero, Hero in the sense that he wanted to provide everything that he have for the kids, students, and for the people of the community. He extends his bounderies to create a greener pastures for the kids in their place.
He's efforts have benefitted aver 60 scholars ranging from indigenois people, out of school youth, former drug addicts, and children in conflict with the law. This act significantly reducing incidences of early marriages, drug addiction, and other forms if crimes among this youths.
He really is a living testimony of a great teacher who inspires a lot of children an alao a lot of teachers, I am one of them, that being a teacher is not just aboit teaching those subjects in the curriculum but also teaching them values. That we as teachers must make a move. That we must teach them all the ways that we can. We must never settle for good but we must acheive to make better.
