Hello Steemians 🌎
I want to specially thank our very own @surpassinggoogle for this brilliant idea of #ulog, its a new experience entirely and i love it.
So i enrolled in a professional Program as a Health and Safety professional, having an understanding that safety is everyone's business and you and i have every right to be safe irrespective of any kind of activities we may get involved safety should be our utmost priority. As a Health, Safety and Environment professional you are saddled with the responsibility of sustaining Health, Equipment/facility and the Environment.
We had a motto:
Think Safety, Act Safely
We were exposed by our instructor to several aspects of safety and health such as
- Accidents and Hazards
- Fire Fighting
- Water Survival
- Material Handling
- Hazard Control
- Confined spaces
- Personal Protective Equipment
And lots more
Hazards are basically anything that could potentially pose or cause harm to an individual. While accidents are incidents that has occurred and has resulted to injury or harm on an individual. We were exposed to several forms and how it could be managed, prevented or control depending on the situation at hand.
Fire Fighting could be tedious but requires intelligence and smartness to salvage certain situations of fire occurrence, rescuring and ensuring safety of lives exposed to the fire.
Water Survival was fun but tasking in that much caution must be taken when working or being exposed to Water. For a good swimmer that could be an advantage, but for the non swimmers, safety precautions must be strictly adhered to avoiding any form of casualty, knowing that safety is paramount.
Hazard control is of different phases, we have the engineering control, administrative control and Personal protective equipment. All these phases are essentially made to control potential threats and to protect Human life and resources.
The experience has been worth while and currently I'm working with a firm as a H.S.E officer. And this has really kept me offline on steemit but I'm back now. I missed steemit so much.
Thanks to @stach @wafrica @surpassinggoogle @adsactly @teardrops
