Wroclaw diaries - Adventurous part IV

Previous parts of this city was based generally on street art and some really cool projects; and of course the old town and the zoo. But as we all know every destination has the old part and usually everday life happens in other parts of it.

Heading towards the new part of the city and the second hostel, on foot of course, we made a break at this SQUARE - well it is squared but to be honest this is probably the best square I have seen around countries I've been. You probably think what is so special about it? Well it has beds placed all around it. Perfect place to take a rest, or waste some time when you have to wait for the bus few hours during the night - and another thing I like it that Wroclavians are using it so much! when it is a nice day most of the beds will be occupied and people will rotate periodically.

After shooting stuff and people lying around and sleeping we went on to explore the stuff we would do later on our trip - wherever you go you must do some kayaking if available feel the veins of the city just beneath your bottom tucked inside a small vessel.

Check in was during mid day but as we approached our hostel for the next 4/5 days everything looked greener, quieter and more organized and you know what - we had a beautiful bridge nearby.

Fountains of paradise

Previously that day good people from tourist information told us that Wroclaw multimedia fountain is a must see. espacially around 8-10pm when there is a show. So we went there just to find beautiful sunset and explore some forest and leave fountain for some other day. Here are some shots

Basically after enjoying the show which lasted about half an hour we headed to hostel for some desperately needed rest.

Next day was all about exploring the new neighborhood which was awesome, 5 minute walk radius contained Japanese garden, zoo, 2 big parks and kayaking club. Which had pretty lousy working hours.

When we finished daily duties and jobs we headed for a summer stroll alongside Odra river.

and guess what, we found a beautiful student's place or whatever that is, but for non-students it was forbidden to enter. Anyways I wish we had that kind of stuff in Belgrade(or maybe not - since I would be hanging out there way more than I should).

This place also contains beach valley and football fields. As well as nice place to chill and in our case watch a World Cup match Serbia - Brazil.

Japanese garden

As a practicioner of Japanese martial arts whenever you see something about Japan you can't resist temptation to check it out. Inside you can see interesting stuff, nice reflection on the pond. Here you can see lots of fishes, ducks, flowers and peaceful places to chil. But thats it, if I pay to enter into the park I really want to see something that gets my attention because of something unique to that place. Park/garden will be park/garden the ticket is pretty cheap but still, imagine yourself living in Wroclaw and you need to pay 2 dollars whenever you want to chill in a nice park.

I Don't want to keep this post too long but our final adventure was kayaking. On our way to kayaks we decided to climb to one of the rooftops. And enjoy some windy panoramic views.

Kayaking

While puddling through Odra we encountered ship racing. As far as I understood watching it far away from action - there were three crews that rows and one guy in front with some kind of war drum. He is giving the rhythm and the crew rows, and what happened when they saw us? :D

Well that's all for now. I hope you experienced some Wroclaw atmosphere through this post. I really like this town, being so chilly with lots of places to enjoy nature, or just lay around. No judgment looks or crazy nonsense like that. However in this city I saw enormous number of people with orthopedic aids, either they are too clumsy or medical aids are cheap with nice quality.
Until next post and another city, Cheers!
