Hello!! We continue telling our trip ... in today's post, our second destination:
SAN SALVADOR DE JUJUY
On 04/10 at 23.20hs we took the bus from Concepción Tucumán, to San Salvador de Jujuy.
The cost of these tickets was $ 757 (Argentine pesos) each. And the trip lasted about 7 hours, so we arrived at the destination on 5/10 at 06:30.
There the Martinez family waited for us to stay at their house !!! It is the family of Gerardo who is a friend of Kevin's faculty. Although Gera was not at home, because she was working in Guyana, her family received us very generously.
Majo, Daniel, Franco, Pato, Nayra and Lilo
That day we went to the center of the city with Franco, brother of Gera, we met the Belgrano Square, the Cathedral Basilica Church, the monolith of Km 0. In addition we went to the Government House, there is a hall with the flags of all the provinces and the first flag made by General Manuel Belgrano, which he donated to the people of Jujuy after they accompany him in his battle of the north against the royalist army.

We also took the opportunity to taste a local beer, at the first bar we had no luck, beer was not good. But next there was another place, so we crossed the table and went for the second test .. now yes! We tried a rich jujeña beer!!
Cheers!!
The next day Daniel, Gera's father, prepared one of his specialties Matambre al Roquefort. Delicious!
Thank you very much Daniel!!
In the afternoon we went with Franco and his girlfriend Majo to Las Termas de Reyes. A place located only 18 km from the city of San Salvador, which has thermal water pools. We were in a complex with an open pool with water at 30 ° C, and another pool covered with water at 40 ° C. The thermal waters have multiple benefits, for example relieve muscle, joint, bone and rheumatic pain; stimulates the nervous system; among others.
Enjoying the pools surrounded by mountains
When returning very relaxed from the hot springs, and some mates in the mountain, we decided at night to go to a recital of Las Manos de Filippi ..

On Sunday, they invited us to share a family lunch. But in a big way with uncles, cousins and grandmother .. Grandma Mena, with Pato (Gera's mother) and her aunts Marta, Miriam and Lili, offered us incredible empanadas of meat, chicken and cheese. They had also prepared a Yajua, a sauce made with tomato and locoto (a type of hot pepper) with which it is common to accompany empanadas in Jujuy. Besides the flavor of the empanadas it was very nice to share this lunch, they made us feel at home.
Finally Pato took us to a viewpoint from where you can see the city, we did not actually find the viewpoint hahaha, but we stopped at a similar place!!
On Monday morning we left for La Quiaca, but relaxed, welcomed and with good food reserves already for our passage to Bolivia!!
