Did you know that Nottingham City in England is also known as the 'city of caves'? Before Nottingham was established, the area was known as Tigguo Cobauc, 'A Place of Caves' and was first mentioned by a Welsh monk around 900AD.
Apparently, there are over 500 known caves under the city and many of them date as far back as 13th century.
The guide says that if you buy a property in Nottingham with a cave underneath, you can do whatever you like with the cave, it's all yours :-) Good to know!
