Trekking at Osmeña Peak to Kawasan Falls

Osmeña Peak known as highest point in the province of Cebu, it was also considered as the Little Baguio because of it's cold temperature. From the top of the peak, you can see the the island of Badian, farms of vegetables, islands of Negros on the west and Bohol Island on the east.

About Osmeña Peak + TIPS and GUIDES + Badian and Kawasan Falls

  • Mantalongon, Dalaguete is also known as the "Vegetable and Summer Capital of Cebu"
  • They have their Utanon Festival (Vegetable Festival) every year. It is a celebration of dance and music as thanksgiving for their good harvest.
  • There is no water source in the peak, a water source is located along the trail on the way to the summit. Fetch enough to bring to the campsite. Or you can ask some children from the area to fetch you some water and you have to pay them 10php for the water, the water in the area is clean and safe.
  • There is a habal-habal (motorcycle) going to foot of Osmeña which costs 100php. (An option if you don't wan't to walk going there).
  • You can buy your foods at Mantalungon Market before trekking.
  • You can have some guide from Mantalungon Market going to Osmeña peak.
  • It will take you almost 2 hrs. of walk from the market going to the peak.
  • There is an option to traverse Osmena Peak down to Kawasan Falls in Brgy. Matutinao, Badian, Cebu. It is best to get a guide if you are planning to traverse as some of the locals are really not familiar with the trail that leads to the falls.
  • It would take you 7 - 8 hrs. of walk going to Kawasan from Osmeña Peak.
  • After 7 hours of walking, finally KAWASAN..

    How to Get to Osmena Peak

  • Go to Caltex Gas Station near Carbon market, take a minibus going to Mantalongon.

  • Advantage: You will only have one ride, but be sure to be on time because the minibus has schedules and it departs on time.
  • Go to Southbus Terminal, take the bus bound to Oslob or Bato via Dalaguete and tell the driver to drop you off at Dalaguete going to Mantalungon, and will see a place populated with bakeries and motors, take the left turn that leads to Mantalungon Market. Take habal-habal (motorcycle) which costs 50php going to the Market.
  • Expenses

  • Minibus fare going to Dalaguete - 100php
  • Meal (Dinner, Breakfast and Lunch) - 150php (it depends to your meal)
  • Bus fare (Badian - Southbus Terminal) - 140php
