Hershey Hotel Trip for 85th birthday of 1st Minority Monogrammed Football Player

He also happens to be my girlfriend's grandfather, she is shown here. He faced racism and all sorts of discrimination to push through it all to become a great pioneer in football history. I will write a seperate piece about him tomorrow because it deserves some additional research and sources to cite.

Family came in from all over the country. They came California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia to come see the 85 year old birthday boy, who lives right outside of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Luckily, my girlfriend and I are only Philadelphia, which is less than a 2 hour drive there for us.

As you can see, it is a super fancy place with 6 restaraunts and is directly across from the famed Hershey Park Amusement Park. You can clearly hear the screams of people on roller coasters and rides at an adequate distance from high on this hill where this hotel is. It costs US$499 a night for an inexpensive room here. The cost only goes up from there.

A beautiful fountain inside the area where some restaraunts and conference rooms converge. The main lobby is a floor right beneath this, where my girlfriend is posted with Mr. Kit Kat in the first image.

Milton Hershey basically brought this town to life. Even the street lights are in the shape of Hershey Kisses.

Wider shot of the same fountain, didn't know which was nicer to post.

Looks like a great place to simply hang out and also to stay the night in luxury.

I will have more personal style pictures to post tomorrow with the birthday boy's story, but I thought I would get these online to show yet another destination that some people may have never seen. Feel free to ask questions or comment. I write back!
