Brihanmumbai Mahanagar Corporation (BMC) headquarters is located in South Mumbai in Maharashtra, India opposite of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus. BMC headquarters is a Grade IIA heritage building at the junction of Dadabhai Naoroji Road and Mahapalika Marg.
It houses the civic body that governs the city of Mumbai. It is the largest civic organization in India as well as in Asia. The Viceroy Lord Ripon laid the foundation stone on 9th December 1884. Frederick William Stevens designed Gothic styled architecture of the building. The building was completed in 1893. The building is well known for its 255 ft tall tower.
