In 2004 my father took me an my brother to a trip to finnland, this was the dream destination of my brother because he liked fishing very well and a lot of fisherman around him told him there is plenty of fish in finnland and it is a dream location for fishermen. So we flew from Munich to Helsinki with Lufthansa. And traveled to the Saimaa Lakes via bus. We had rent a small house with own sauna near Lappenranta.

Not really hot weather

It was august 2004 but it was still not very hot in finnland, so we used the sauna very often. My brother of course went fishing a lot and there was even a boat wich we could use to go out the lake for fishing. My brothers dream was to catch a Pike wich is also called Jackfish, and he really had luck to catch 2 of them. One was very small the other was big enough to feed us 3 for one meal. He did catch also some other medium sized fish but the jackfish was the highlight.

We also went into the forests to collect a lot of blue berries and chanterelles. To our luck there was plenty of it, near our cottage. We ate a lot of them during this holiday. I think often of the former days in my life becaus i had the luck to travel a lot and see a lot of very nice places in the world.
