Day One.
The staff at my local ticket office can no longer sell me train tickets on the day of travel, which was their primary function and saved me about five dollars a day.
All tickets for day of travel now have to be bought on the concourse machines, which naturally do not have an advance option, or via app.
I can only see this as a precursor to making the station staff redundant, as they will now have no customers.
Shocked, financially punished and disgusted.
Day Two.
I hear today that they plan to entirely remove the ability to buy tickets on the day of travel, and will replace them with tickets you have to buy the day before, and either via app or forecourt machine.
Wow.
That would cripple my ability to travel to work unless I bought a season ticket, but that costs more than individual tickets.
