Miles Freeman’s £56,000 Volvo XC90 was left a charred wreck and their home in Solihull, West Mids, suffered £3,000 damage in the blaze. Miles claims crews said the blaze was started either by the engine or the socket where the charging plug fits to the car.
He says he used a Volvo-approved company to install the £850 charging point at his home. The majority of the money came from the government as part of their low-emission vehicle plug-in grant.
