The converted vehicles use the Unik-fi technology developed by USS and is supposed to range from one electrical charge from 64.3 to 201 kilometers, and Carlton added, "This program will help develop and distribute electric delivery trucks faster and at reasonable cost. Owing to the calm and environmental cleanliness of electric vehicles, they represent an ideal option within urban areas with the high population density as New York City, as well as a crucial part of our future strategy.»

The trucking industry represents the most recent sector for electric vehicles, and in the effort of the Tesla and Daimler company to the development of electric vehicles suited to long-range services, the transformation of parcel carriers such as UPS to electric vehicles was only a matter of time. Furthermore, Royal Mail began using electric trucks to connect, knowing that it is the oldest company to provide postal services in the United Kingdom.

The New York State authority for Energy research and Development hopes that the first electrical delivery trucks for work can be prepared by the spring of 2018, putting the company on track to convert 1,500 trucks by 2022; 66% of total trucks in New York City, in line with the goal of city governor New York; Andrew Como, aimed at reducing the city's carbon emissions by 40% by 2030.

"The project is a good example of the city's investment in technical innovations that will help us achieve the clean energy goals drawn by Governor Andrew," said Alicia Barton, head of the New York Authority and executive director in a press release. I pay tribute to the two companies; UBS and the Kürk Sulchens for their pioneering role in developing this system and its ability to reduce greenhouse gas emissions as well as its usability in the delivery services sector.»
