Earlier in the day, Director of the Astro Space Center of the Physical Institute of Russian academy of Sciences Nikolai Kardashev told Sputnik that control over the space vehicle had been lost, with attempts to regain control being underway.
According to Kovalev, if control is not restored, the project will be terminated.

A source in the Roscosmos space corporation told Sputnik that the corporation was trying to regain control over the space telescope.
