Today let me share my sunday brunch experience InterContinental Hanoi Landmark72
Today was the grand opening of their monthly sunday brunch, i was excited to try their offer.
First impression, luxury, sophisticated and oustanding offer, it seems intercontinental wanted to offer us the best quality product available and/or imported in vietnam
Oyster area offered fine de claire, belon and tsarskaya, three of the best french oyster.
2 little detail that i noticed, this kind of detail that indicate u are in a 5 stars hotel and they take care of every detail :
The traditional vinager sauce wifh challots in almost all buffet i went is simply available in a bowl with a spoon and u add it to your oyster. But not this time, this time it was served in a tiny bottle quite nice! Never see that before. The lemon also, warped in cloth tissue so when u press it, seeds are block by cloth tissue and lemon juice doesnt spread everywhere.
Found this 2 feature lovely and useful.
Caviar was announced on the menu, and yeaaah we got it!
French caviar made by caviari, egg were matured in paris as sturgeon came from a farm in italy.
i got a nice presentation of the product and how to eat it, see video below! Very nice caviar, quite tasty, good experience !
Seafood corner : WOW
Lobster, north american lobster king crab and even local, was surprise to find delicious Tu Hài !
I have to say that lobster was delicious ( and not dry like on some other buffet), the size of the king crab was the biggest i saw in hanoi AND it was cooked to perfection, all flavors of king crab were at the rendez vous.
Sashimi/suhi corner, was not that convinced by aspect of the sashimi that must be brilliant and reflect light ( i am convince that sashimi should be cut in order and not cut in advance to lay down even on ice) sushi in size were quite small, i pass my turn this time on this area, i didnt came to this buffet for sashimi sushi.
Appetizers : Big offer, couldnt try all but the saumon bellevue was visually oustanding ( whole salmon with lemon slice on top) and nice to eat, classic offering of smoked salmon, many different kind, i didnt try all, just one and it was delicious
They allow one full room only for cold cut and offer was huge :
Pata negra ham ( best in world), french bayone ham also delicious, sausage, pate, rilletes ( french)
The 2 ham were absolutely fanstatic ! Cut for you on demand from the whole leg !
2 main course available on carving station :
Roasted beef : looked nice but to my taste it was overcooked, as to me roasted beef should be medium rare ( i even prefer it rare)
Grilled sturgeon : looked also nice, as i never eat sturgeon before, well i was not that blown away, a bit dry and taste bring me nothing new or exceptionnal to fish i already ate before !
Foie gras station :
i love foie gras, foie gras is in my dna, my hometown/area is specialized in foie gras.
I ordered one by habbits, even i never been that much enthusiast on any foie gras served to me in buffet, most of time time seared, a bit of seasoning, nothing much ...
But not this time !!
This time i got a lovely seared foie gras, with a poched pear behind, chutney rhubarb and strawberry, fantastic !
Highly surprised to have such a dish with that well balanced flavor in a buffet, this can be served in a a la carte restaurant !
Still in foie gras, i got a Foie gras creme brulee, idea looked also nice but unfortunately, to my taste the fois gras creme was way too salty and we loose all flavor benefits of sweet combination, too bad i LOVED the idea !
Cheese corner ? Well, outstanding offer, cheese provided by famous cheese master Les Frères Marchand , i recently joined an event with Patrice Marchand , there is no doubt that this is the BEST cheese u can find in hanoi : sheep blue cheese (bleu de brebis cire) a cheese wonder, comte etc but also delicious english stilton ( yes england can produce good cheese :) )
At this stage i was completely full, so just try some delicious dessert, cant remember name buf offering was visually fantastic !
well about price, as i dont drink wine that much, i took the basic package at 1.5m include juice and soda, over more pricey package seems to be a good deal, especially the one granted u a free flow of expensive Bollinger champagne rose !
Well guys, we have now a new serious player in town.
I clearly understand that intercontinental wanted to provide premium food in his monthly buffet, this offer clearly came directly to the top of the buffet offering , competition is always good for us customer !
Last but not least, the service was nice and soft, very attentive despite the fact that buffet was full today, always with a smile and even some waitress call me by my name and i couldnt remember if i met them before ( maybe at jw marriott). 5 stars magic :)

Thanks to the 2 delightful french chef, i can see clearly their effort to bring the best to hanoi !
Thanks to all the team, when i left, i waited to be alone in elevator to have my stupid smile/face. well done i really enjoy my brunch !!
Other 5 stars hotel, be careful, landmark 72 set the level up :)
