I Made Homemade Strawberry Pie Today

I got some strawberries from my friend's strawberry patch. She had so many that I decided to use some to make a pie for my family and another one for her to thank her for her wonderful, sweet berries.

The pie is so easy to make. I like to make my own crust, so I just crushed some graham crackers by putting some into a ziplock bag and then mashing them with a food mallet. After I used the mallet I took a rolling pin and rolled over the bag a few times to make the crumbs uniform in size.

Then I melted a little bit of butter and added it to the crumbs until I could flatten the crumbs into my pie pan. I put the crumbs into a preheated oven at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 7 minutes.

After the crust cooled I put strawberry halves all around the bottom and sides of the crumb crust and then I chopped a few more strawberries to put into the center.

Next, I cooked a box of strawberry gelatin with 1 tablespoon of flour and half a cup of sugar mixed with 1 cup of water over medium heat until the gelatin mixture was boiling. I let the liquid boil for about 5 minutes at a slow boil. I let the gelatin mixture cool until it was slightly thick and then I poured the glaze over all the strawberries.

After letting it cool I put some homemade whipped cream on top and happily the result. I hope you like the picture!
