How One Thing Leads To Another...

"Everybody's life has these moments, where one thing leads to another. Some are big and obvious and some are small and seemingly insignificant."
- Peter Jackson -

I wrote about music yesterday...

My story was my personal memory of a time when I was "Sittin' In," and it was prompted by my friend Troy's post about The Oscar Peterson Trio.

I enjoyed the Oscar Peterson Trio so much that I listened to the song Troy posted again and again.

Well if it's that good, there must be more, right? I branched out to some other YouTube videos Peterson had done.

Here's the one I found and simply fell in love with. I played it over and over again...

Oscar Peterson plays "Boogie Blues Etude" - YouTube
I can't get enough of this...

OK, so I was working and listening to awesome boogie in the background.

Do you know what happens when you do that? Well, on YouTube anyway, after a short while, the Tube moves on to the next song in a series. Thus I found myself discovering Ladyva...

Who is Ladyva (pronounced "La-DEE-vah")?

Apparently, she is an awesome performer of piano boogie woogie and blues... Please, sample her wares for yourself:

Ladyva plays "Boogie Woogie Stomp," Live - YouTube
Note: Play this for atmosphere as you read the rest of my story...

I have got to learn to play some boogie and blues!

After listening to Ladyva play the following piece, I have some small hope that I might be able to at least give it a shot...

Ladyva plays "Return To Blues" - YouTube
This might be slow enough for me to learn...

I think I'll watch Ladyva play "Return To Blues" as many times as it takes for me to begin picking it up... It sounds fantastic, and, hey, she's not that hard to look at, either!

Indeed, one thing leads to another,

and in the case of discovering more Oscar Peterson and the lovely Ladyva, I'm ever so glad that it does!
