This is not a democratic society, this is a capitalist society.

When is the last time I got a vote about what is in my supermarket?
What about what I produce at my job?
How about what buildings are built, and how they are used?
When did I get to decide how many resources are thrown away?, because it's easier to do that then give it away.

The vast majority of society is capital, not the state. Sure, through threat of revolt the state puts restrictions on capital, but in reality that is organised capital defending itself as a structure. The modern state is an extension of capitalism, capitalism is not an extension of the state.

Look at the US for example, the "revolution" was a bunch of white property owners. The first thing they did is make sure the new state would protect their property, in fact that's why they had the revolution. The creation of this state was literally by capitalists, for capitalists. Not by mythical state-ists.
