Another experienced coin from the mid-1800's . On January 29 1860 the American College was established in Rome by Pope Pius IX . October 12th 1860 British and French troops capture Peking . (You captured China and you gave it back !!!!!) Abraham Lincoln (Republican-Illinois-Representative) is elected 16th president of the USA on November 4th 1860 . This coin had a mintage of 1,475,100 and was struck in .925 % silver , weighed 11.31 grams , and was 30 mm in diameter . It was minted in London England by the Royal Mint .
The obverse again shows us a very beautiful "Gothic" looking Victoria facing let surrounded by the legend VICTORIA D G BRITT REG F D MDCCCLX(1860)(Victoria by the Grace of God, Queen of the British territories, Defender of the Faith, 1860) .
The reverse is much like the previous coin except the device in the center and the style of the writing !
The edge of this coin is reeded .
Thank you for your time ! mikegpo
