Entering into the matter, sexuality is the set of physical, psychological and affective characteristics that we have as men or as women. This encompasses the thoughts, desires, attitudes, values, and lifestyle that each person experiences.

It is important to let the child know that a part of sexuality does not only develop individually but sometimes intervene in the relationship with other people and the environment where it develops.

Aspects that influence sexuality
The aspects that influence the development of sexuality are:
• Biological aspects: referring to the primary and secondary sexual characteristics of each person, as is the case of the genitals.
• Psychological aspects: They are subject to the mental, emotional and sentimental processes of each person, within these processes are the affective bonds that we establish with other people.
• Sociological aspects: it is given with the learning and behaviors that the society in which the individual lives provides us. These are specific to each population or culture.
• Spiritual aspects: they include the beliefs, visions, and expectations that people have. They are usually deeply influenced by their culture and ethical, moral and religious principles.

Regarding identity, it is important to teach them that it is unique for each person, defined as the set of physical, psychological and emotional characteristics that distinguish us as individuals.

The personality is part of the identity, it is the set of psychological characteristics that we have and that determine our behavior. The personality is constituted by elements such as temperament, our ability to reason and plan, and our values.

To form the personality it is important that the child learns:

But there are also other factors that intervene in the establishment of sexual identity, which are the psychological, sociological and spiritual factors that were previously defined.

Many times parents do not have the time to transmit a good sex education or simply do not mention it because they have a taboo regarding this issue, which leads to the future that the child looks for sources of information not recommended, where what they do is distort or confuse the child with respect to their sexual identity.

In order to transmit a good sexual education, we need reliable and accurate information about how our body changes and develops, as well as self-esteem and how our personality is established under the various factors involved in sexuality.
